KIM HEE WOO
THE
EVOLUTION
OF
A MONSTER
IN
AGAIN MY LIFE
|
The
production team of Again My Life led by Director Han Chul Soo has
brought the manhwa-cum-novel to life and with it, they have grown a larger-than-life monster, Kim Hee Woo, portrayed by Lee Joon Gi. The
monster was originally a dedicated prosecutor who was ruthlessly murdered in
his Past life because he went to great lengths to prosecute Jo Tae Sup,
an evil politician. He came too close to exposing the politician’s evil deeds.
New stills from SBS show the prosecutor who has returned to the
Past with the aim of resetting the Future. The stills show Kim Hee Woo in his youth as he prepares for the greatest fight of his life against evil, accumulating knowledge and physically training to be stronger. But, in the process, is a monster growing in Kim Hee Woo? Everyone is enamoured of the handsome, sweet, lovable, affable and kind student who is studying law at the Hankuk University. It seems the charming intellectual even has a hilarious sense of humour. None sees him as a monster in the making. As some
fans would like to describe it, Lee Joon Gi will be portraying multiple
personalities rolled into one in Again My Life. As Kim Hee Woo, he would wear many
disguises and masks to help him draw Jo Tae Sup into his trap. Would
he be a bigger monster than Jo Tae Sup? Perhaps,
to understand the mind of Kim Hee Woo, one would have to
study the Russian nesting doll or the Russian Matryoshka doll. The
doll symbolises the search for truth and meaning. The doll, like Kim Hee
Woo, is quite intriguing. It is made up of multiple dolls, which may be
as many as 10 dolls. One has to pull out the dolls, one by one, from the main
doll and the last one is the smallest, a surprisingly tiny doll, half the
size of the usual medicinal capsule. Kim Hee Woo is like the doll. To
understand him, one has to peel layer after layer to see what’s inside. China also has its own crafted nesting boxes that date back to
the Song Dynasty around 1000 AD. In the original sets, the smallest box held
a single grain of rice. Will Kim
Hee Woo, who is hell-bent on bringing Jo Tae Sup to justice, turn
into a vicious human beast? Imagine the terrible roars, the gnashing of
teeth, the rolling eyes, the poisonous claws and the sharp jaws. If, the
monster comes to life, it will wreak terror in the viewer’s mind. The K-drama
viewers are waiting impatiently to watch Kim Hee Woo’s moves and
countermoves to defeat Jo Tae Sup and his henchmen. SBS’ upcoming Friday-Saturday drama, Again My Life, premieres at 10 p.m. KST on 8 April (Friday). The 16-episode drama,
with criminal law, political, action, mystery, time travel and fantasy
elements, is directed by Director Han Chul Soo, who is assisted by Kim Yong
Min. It scripted by Jay and Kim Yul, and adapted from Lee Hae-nal’s web novel
of the same name to the screen by Lee Byung Hun, the director of Extreme
Job. Lee Soo Min is the Action and Martial Arts Director. The drama, is
produced by Samhwa Networks and Kross Pictures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvj8NK2n1tA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csgH4OOZR-o Again My Life is also available on VIU and VIKI. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU7Cj-2KaLc |
