After conveying his immense enthusiasm for Duranga, the Indian adaptation of his 2020 Flower of Evil, Lee Joon Gi could hardly contain his excitement at the mention of the Philippine adaptation of his television masterpiece. He had exclaimed with great gusto in a recent Instagram post, ‘I heard about this! From my Philippine family. Yeah. I will check this out. And it will be great. Very happy to see you guys!’
The top South Korean actor, who plays Do Hyun Soo-cum-Baek Hee Sung, the psychologically and mentally disturbed and traumatised son of a psychopath, couldn’t help being inordinately pleased that Flower of Evil, his globally loved and addictive suspense melodrama, has spawned two adaptations - a feat no other lead actor can boast of.
Lovi Poe
Lovi Poe, the female lead of the Pinoy adaptation immediately responded to his Instagram post. Her playful comment had probably brought a smile to many faces, with everyone nodding in agreement.
‘MY HEART. You and the whole cast gave such a powerful performance that people all over the world wanted to make adaptations of the show.’
Poe confessed in an exclusive interview with Metro last year that the Korean hit series is ‘one of her favourites’ and it was ‘a dream come true’ to be starring in the Philippine adaptation. Her positive remarks about Flower of Evil also included, ‘… such an amazing show, an amazing storyline.’
