Mr Nice Guy, Lee Joon Gi, has been sending The Unnies coffee or food trucks to his friends and former co-stars not only to wish them success in their new projects but also to keep their spirits up. Lee sent such a truck on 15 October to his former Flower of Evil leading lady, Moon Chae Won’s new filming site. Lee Joon Gi also has a new project, Again My Life. It is rumoured that that the filming of his television series has already begun.

Filming movies or television series under the sweltering sun or in the cold of the night can be difficult as many actors have punishing schedules. The food, coffee and other beverages are great morale boosters; they raise the spirits of the actors as well as the production staff. Such sweet and meaningful gestures are welcome and well-received. Lee Joon Gi has also been at the receiving end of countless gifts from his global fans; his loyal fans are his cheerleaders who provide the much-needed boost and inspiration during the long and demanding filming hours. The food catering that they organise at the filming site are complemented by the coffee trucks.

The beautiful and passionate Moon Chae Won is paired with Kwon Sang Woo in the romantic comedy film, ‘We Grow Up’ which is a remake of the Argentinian film ‘No Kids’.

The friendship of Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won was forged on the set of the amazing police procedural-action-crime drama, Criminal Minds in 2017. Lee Joon Gi, the lead actor, is cast as Kim Hyun Joon, the equivalent of Derek Morgan, portrayed by Shemar Moore in the original American television series. Moon Chae Won portrays Ha Sun Woo, the South Korean counterpart of Emily Prentiss. Lee won the Actor of The Year Award for his role in Criminal Minds at the 13th Soompi Annual Awards in 2018.

The unique 2020 masterpiece, Flower of Evil is their second collaboration, so it is unsurprising that they are quite at ease with each other. The two acclaimed actors play a husband-wife pair, whose incredible onscreen chemistry is unmatched. Theirs are career-defining roles. The fact that The Philippines is remaking Flower of Evil is a testimony of the magnificent masterpiece which is helmed by Kim Cheol Kyu and written by Yoo Jung Hee. In recognition of his tour-de-force performance, he was bestowed the 2020 ICON (Drama) title by Cultura, the South Korean magazine for the arts and culture. He also won AAA’s Asia Celebrity and Best Artist Award in 2020.

Another leading lady who had been at the receiving end of Lee’s warmth gestures is the lovely superstar singer-actor, IU, who portrays Hae Soo, a court lady in the 2016 Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, the best and most unforgettable historical television series in South Korean television history. One can feel their sizzling chemistry throughout the television series; they have built a bond of affection for each other and IU is now one of his staunchest friends.

He sent her coffee trucks for her television series My Mister (2018), Hotel Del Luna (2019) and movie, Dream (2020).

The role of Prince Wang So / Emperor Gwangjong was another career defining role for Lee. He won an international award, Taiwan KKTV Actor of The Year in 2016 for his electrifying performance. In 2018, Lee was chosen as Brand Ambassador for Wish Interactive’s Goong 3D, a 3D Ancient Palace RPG mobile game in recognition of the influence of Lee’s role as Emperor Gwangjong.

The gorgeous Seo Yea Ji was also a recipient of Lee’s coffee truck. They starred in the ground-breaking 2018 masterpiece, Lawless Lawyer, in which he portrayed a reckless, lawless but courageous lawyer while she played a strong and fearless lawyer. Their chemistry is undeniable. Lee Joon Gi was crowned Best Male Asian Star at Starhub's Night of Stars in Singapore for what has been described by critics as ‘Once in A Lifetime Role’.

It is quite unjust that the extraordinary ground-breaking television series was not nominated for awards nor awarded by any South Korean showbusiness award organization. But, what makes it even more shocking is Lawless Lawyer (2018), together with Flower of Evil (2020), has been blatantly plagiarised by a 2021 South Korean television series. In fact, the 2020 Flower of Evil was plagiarised by another 2021 television series. Some people are riding on the coattails of others. Plagiarism seems to be lucrative.

Lee also sent coffee trucks to other friends including actors Moon Geun Young and Chun Woo Hee.
