Lee Joon Gi, the massively popular multihyphenate superstar, hosted ‘DREAM’, a talk show on Naver Now, a live audio streaming service, on 3 December at 10:00 pm KST. The charming and congenial actor interacted with his local and global fans in real time. There was such a great surge in the number of fans logging in to watch the show and to interact with him that the server crashed. The producers of Naver, who had anticipated the possibility of such an occurrence, had taken the necessary precautions; they had every intention to ensure the seamless running of the show so the server was up and running in no time. Lee was recently named 2020 Drama Icon by Cultura, a magazine for culture and the arts.

The Naver show, which lasted 2 hours 45 minutes, ended well after bedtime but his fans stayed with him. The show had a rerun the next night due to the popularity of the show.

2020 marks the 19th anniversary of Lee Joon Gi’s debut in the South Korean entertainment industry. It must be highlighted that a GOLD TROPHY icon is affixed to Lee Joon Gi’s name on NAVER. The gold trophy on Naver indicates that a director or a leading actor’s movie had sold over 10 million tickets in Korea.

According to Wikipedia, Lee Joon Gi's movie, ‘The King and the Clown’ sold more than 12.3 million tickets, making it the most watched movie of South Korea in 2005. 'It ranked first and grossed a total of ₩72.6 billion after 12 weeks of screening.' Its foreign total, recorded by Box Office Mojo, is US$74.4 million. The movie  made Lee Joon Gi globally famous.

During the Naver talk show, Lee shared his thoughts with his fans about his life as an actor and updated them on his recent activities after the final broadcast of the 16-episode Flower of Evil, the 2020 TV masterpiece. The superstar is beloved by people of a broad age range, from young children to senior ladies and men.

The articulate and voluble actor, a talk show powerhouse, discussed topics close to his heart including Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, in which he starred with Lee Ji Eun (IU). He even teased his fans with the famous last words of Emperor Gwangjong:

'If we're not from the same world,

I'll find you, my Soo.'

One cannot but be reminded of the far reaching impact of the global success of the 2016 MLSHR due to his impressive portrayal of Prince Wang So or Emperor Gwangjong. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo is considered to be a timeless drama in the showbusiness industry.

Wish Interactive, developer of ‘Palace 3D', has appointed Lee Joon Gi as the Brand Ambassador for their Chinese mobile game.

A representative for Wish Interactive, the developer of ‘Palace 3D,’ said,

‘Actor Lee Joon Gi has shown such masculine charisma, charm and versatility that he is a great choice for appealing to our primary target market - women. We look forward to working with him as our brand ambassador.’

The game was officially released on 10 June 2020. The appointment of Lee Joon Gi by the Hong Kong company is testimony to Lee’s unsurpassed acting skills and charismatic Hallyu power.

During the show, Lee's fans joked with him and one was bold enough to say, ‘I want to bite you!’  That sounds delicious.

Lee Joon Gi even invited Moon Chae Won, his Flower of Evil leading lady, to have a chat. In his inimitable style, mixing jokes, laughter and wit, Lee stirred up a lot of interest about a possible 'romantic' relationship between them, which would possibly be fantastic publicity if they were to have a third drama reunion in a saguek drama.

The superstar, a natural talk host, is not new to the talk show business. During his military days, he had hosted a popular talk show, ‘Friends’ FM radio show called Jumam, which aired at 7 p.m.
