Lee Joon Gi And Namoo Actors: The Return of The Legenday Emperor Palace 3D Game Interview

LEE JOON GI
AND
NAMOO ACTORS
THE RETURN
OF
THE LEGENDARY EMPEROR
PALACE 3D
GAME
 INTERVIEW

There has been great excitement ever since the appointment of megastar Lee Joon Gi as Brand Ambassador for PALACE 3D or GUNG 3D, a mobile game. The launch of the mobile game by FriendTimes, the developer of the game, on 10 June 2020 was preceded by a high visibility promotion in the subway stations in South Korea to raise brand awareness. As brand ambassador, Lee has been treated like Asian showbusiness royalty. Namoo Actors conducted an exclusive interview with Lee Joon Gi concerning his appointment.

Lee Joon Gi portrays the legendary historical hero, Wang So (Fourth Prince) and Emperor Gwangjong, in the global hit, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. The charismatic multihyphenate, himself, is a living legend. Lee’s amazing and unforgettable performance has made an indelible mark on the global memory. It is difficult for global fans who have succumbed to the charms and magnetism of Wang So and Emperor Gwangjong to let him go after the end of the drama.

Palace 3D will certainly be a comfort to them. Gwangjong, the great emperor has returned to their world, not in a South Korean drama but in the Palace 3D mobile game. Users of Palace 3D who expect to meet Emperor Gwangjong, a veritable global icon, will not be disappointed.

The modern Emperor Gwangjong

The Namoo Actors interview was conducted during the shooting of the commercial advertisement for Palace 3D. Lee Joon Gi was in high spirits. There was a lot of friendly banter between Lee and his interviewer.

In the interaction with the Namoo interviewer, Lee is requested to describe the Palace 3D character in 5 words. His answer, Return of the Great Emperor, perfectly nails the general sentiments. The viewers and his fans agree that it is ‘The Return of Gwangjong, the Legendary Emperor’ to their lives.

Lee was subsequently asked about the outcomes of possible fight scenarios between his various drama / movie characters.

A FIGHT

BETWEEN

BAEK HEE SUNG (FLOWER OF EVIL)

AND

BONG SANG PIL (LAWLESS LAWYER)

Bong Sang Pil will be the winner.

Isn’t Lee being cleverly led to reveal some secrets and spoilers of his upcoming drama, Flower of Evil?

A FIGHT

BETWEEN

WANG SO (MOON LOVERS: SCARLET HEART RYEO)

AND

LEE JOON GI

What about Wang So and Lee Joon Gi? Lee Joon Gi will defintely triumph since he is the creator of all his drama characters. All these charismatic characters are etched in the audience’s memory.

Lee Joon Gi lists the fighting or martial arts skills of the characters that he has portrayed or will portray in movies and dramas in descending order:

1.   WANG SO (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo 2016)
2.   ILJIMAE (Iljimae 2008)
3.   BONG SANG PIL (Lawless Lawyer 2018)
4.   BAEK HEE SUNG (Flower of Evil 2020)
5.   GONG GIL (The King and The Clown 2005)

Won’t the fans be disappointed if Baek Hee Sung cannot fight that well? Bong Sang Pil is a great fighter. Probably, Baek Hee Sung is nearly as good as Bong Sang Pil, if not better. One is convinced that Baek Hee Sung is a great fighter but if that sexy beast is caged, won’t all his fans be heartbroken?

Lee is then questioned about his better facial feature: Nose or Eyes. When he answers ‘Eyes’, he is requested to show how awesome his eyes are.

Be warned: You might feel the erratic beat of your heart. Or, you might be grasping for breath. Worse still, you might have a heart-attack. Just don’t be drawn to look deep into his searching eyes or you would never outgrow your love for those intoxicating eyes.

Another question is related to his wonderful dogs, his best friends. It is interesting to note that one dog is white (Joonie) and the other is black (Kabi), colours that Lee favours.

Of the two adorable pint-sized dogs which look like Chihuahuas, Lee prefers Joonie to Kabi because Joonie knows the way to Lee’s heart. Joonie seems to be devoted and protective. He loves the actor to the point that he would always park himself at his master’s bedroom door and affectionately waits for him to wake up.

Lee’s answer is a revelation. It indicates that Lee Joon Gi does not sleep with his dogs or perhaps his dogs are not allowed in his bedroom but they are free to roam around in his house.

UPDATED 28.06.2020

The actor seems to be in a good mood and he probably feels great. When asked to describe his feelings in 3 words, his answer is ‘The Bestest Best’, meaning ‘The Very Best.’

It seems Lee is allowed to rethink his answer. He must have momentarily slipped into Baek Hee Sung’s mind, the character that he is portraying in his upcoming drama, Flower of Evil. His three new words are: Sorrow. Pain. Joy.

The viewers are shown images of Lee Joon Gi in two suits. They are in his favourite colours: white and black. His other favourite colour is red. Needless to say, he looks gorgeous in both suits.

The interviewer asks Lee Joon Gi outright to disclose a spoiler for his upcoming drama.

Lee cryptically said that there will be ‘two’ beautiful actors in Flower of Evil. Does he mean Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won, his leading lady in the drama? Possibly, but has he forgotten that there are other beautiful people in the drama?

Perhaps, Lee wants to draw the viewers’ attention to the two faces of Baek Hee Sung. Think of Lee Joon Gi as two actors playing opposite roles: Baek Hee Sung, the beautiful, innocent flower and Baek Hee Sung, the beautiful, evil flower.

Asked if he tires of being too good-looking, Lee immediately replies that he does not think that he is good-looking. He jokes that he doesn’t look normal. Whatever that means.

Like his fans, the interviewer is convinced that Lee is extraordinarily good-looking.

Lee wanted to say his goodbyes but the interviewer would not let him go that easily. He is almost thrown off by a naughty question. He is shown two pictures: his baby self and a supposedly ‘wax’ figure of himself. Which picture does he like better?

It is hilarious. Lee laughs. Everyone likes his cute baby picture.

The other image is Lee Joon Gi’s figure displayed in Hua Ying Shan Famous People Wax Museum in the Sichuan Province. The figure was created in December 2006 by a robotic developer, Sejong Robotics.

Many online reports stated that it is a wax figure. Some people might beg to differ. The figure cannot be a wax figure as wax figures are inflexible and wax is super-fragile. It’s not a wax robot either because wax robots probably exist only in The Simpson’s world.

Lee Joon Gi’s figure seems more like a robot than a wax figure because the arms of the figure could be made to move. Imagine a robot being made in Lee Joon Gi’s image! Really cool. Which actor has a robot to call his own?

Unlike Madame Tussauds’ wax figures which are created by professional designers who spent many hours to measure and capture all the features of the stars who would be immortalised, Lee’s figure does not really resemble him. Probably, no exact measurements had been taken in Lee’s case. The designers probably did not refer to his actual photos. If the figure is a robot, perhaps the technology was not advanced enough in 2006 for the designers to produce a likeness to the real actor.

Lee Joon Gi, as usual, showed his famous good naturedness, sense of humour and charm; he laughed merrily at the sight before him.
