It is easy to dismiss actors and actresses who have been out of
the limelight for a while; they may have a wealth of experience to contribute
to a drama. Yang Hyae Jin, a member of the Flower of Evil cast, posted a photo of herself with Lee Joon
Gi on Instagram after their script reading session.

There wasn’t much news about Yang on the Internet because she
had taken a ten-year hiatus from acting after her marriage. The 50-year old actress, made her debut in the
entertainment industry in the 1989 movie, ‘Watercolor Painting On A Rainy Day’.
Yang has been interested in
acting since childhood. Her grandfather was a famous filmmaker and
director in the Korean film industry in the 1970s.

Yang
thought that she would never act again but decided to revive her acting
career with the support of her husband. She made a comeback to the industry in 2018 with the KBS daily
drama, ‘It’s My Life’.
Yang’s role in ‘Flower of Evil’ is a mystery. Would
she portray Baek Hee Sung’s mother? If so, the pertinent question is, ‘If criminal psychopathy is
inherited, whose genes are defective? His father’s or his mother’s? Is it also
possible that Baek comes from a
dysfunctional family? The question of the influence of genes and the
environment (born versus formed) is expected to be addressed in the drama.
TVN’s Flower of Evil, the
most highly anticipated 2020 drama, is written by Yoo Jung Hee, directed
by Kim Cheol Gyu, produced by Studio Dragon and MonsterUnion.
It will be broadcast on every Wednesday and Thursday in July 2020.
