LAWLESS LAWYER

A MATCH

DRAMA HEAVEN

LEE JOON GI

THE PIN-UP BOY
FOR
HANDSOME AND YOUTHFUL LOOKS

At age 36, Lee Joon Gi, who was born in the Year of the Dog (17 April 1982), is the ultimate pin-up boy for youthful and handsome looks. It is precisely this reason that since 2015 Lee Joon Gi’s leading ladies have been very much younger than him.

Seo Ye Ji, his co-star for Lawless Lawyer or Lawless Attorney, is 28 years old and 8 years his junior. Lee Yu Bi who stars in ‘The Scholar Who Walks The Night’ (2015) is also 8 years younger than him and IU (Lee Ji Eun), who plays Hae Soo in Moon Lovers – Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (2016), is 11 years his junior. Moon Chae Won (Criminal Minds Korea 2017), who at 32, is the oldest of them all. But, she is four years younger than him.

THEN AND NOW

Superstar Lee Joon Gi celebrates teaming up again with the lauded Production Director, Kim Jin Min for his legal drama, Lawless Lawyer. It has been 11 years since they last worked together for MBC’s ‘Time Between Dog and Wolf’, in 2007.

                                            Then (2007)                                                                                                                                                                  Now (2018)
Time Between Dog & Wolf                                                                                                                                                 Lawless Lawyer

Lee Joon Gi has called the 2007 collaboration one of the turning points in his career. Since then, he has blazed a trail in the showbusiness and entertainment industry.

But, fans also know of an earlier one in his life - The King and The Clown in 2005. But then, there have been many other significant turning points, especially recent ones, in Lee's illustrious career.

BONG VS HA

A MATCH
MADE IN
DRAMA HEAVEN

There seems to be a news blackout for the drama Lawless Lawyer or Lawless Attorney since no posters, photos or videos including those for the Script Reading have been released. But, it is presumed that Lee Joon Gi and Seo Ye Ji are revving up for their performance as the lead actor and the lead actress respectively in the new drama.

From the skimpy bits of information guardedly given out by the production staff of Lawless Lawyer, one has to come to one’s own conclusions about the drama.

It seems that lawyer Ha Jae Yi played by Seo Ye Ji is an outspoken, tough and straight-talking lawyer who does not rein in her feelings. She probably puts a foot in her mouth and makes an idiot of herself on a particular occasion. Things probably spiral out of control after an altercation with a judge. Her fortunes are reversed and her humiliation is complete when she ends up not as a legal eagle but as a paralegal in Bong Sang Pil’s law firm.

Some observers speculate that Bong and Ha are fiery characters and will have their own verbal fights. A sensational match to be seen – a match made in drama heaven.

As with most young lawyers, Ha Jae Yi’s idealism about law and justice is whittled down to probably zero after reality sets in. Her strong convictions and well-grounded beliefs about the legal world would most probably be shattered. With dwindling self-confidence, she learns the ropes of being an effective lawyer from Bong Sang Pil, a law wizard.

Bong Sang Pil seems to be a colourful and controversial figure. He was formerly a gangster who had to claw his way through law school. At the heart of the drama is Bong Sang Pil’s mother’s murder case. As a child, Bong Sang Pil was a witness to his mother’s murder. That resembles the murder of Kay’s mother in ‘Time Between Dog and Wolf’.  Rest assured that it’s the only shared feature.

Fans are waiting to watch Bong Sang Pil take centrestage in the drama and be entertained by his quick tongue and courtroom savvy. They know that he won’t miss a beat when he plunges headlong into his thrilling courtroom battles. The charismatic super lawyer, Bong Sang Pil will take on a bunch of powerful and corrupt crooks the David v Goliath way. Whoever deserves their comeuppance will get their comeuppance in the end.

The excited fans are disappointed to hear that the drama will run for only 16 episodes. Those fans are waiting to see the super talented, gorgeous and sexy Lee Joon Gi and the beautiful Seo Ye Ji’s explosive on-screen chemistry. Will 16 episodes be enough?

Even before Lee Joon Gi and Seo Ye Ji start shooting the TVN drama, the would-be viewers, particularly the ladies, are expecting Lawless Lawyer or Lawless Attorney to be an explosive hit. They know that the drama would be gripping and provocative. They hope that it would not be too serious but it would have some light-hearted moments, romantic love lines and also a happy ending.

Now, ladies, get ready for your next obsession, Bong Sang Pil, The King of the Courtroom. But, don’t forget Park Yoon Kang, the magnificent gunman; Kim Sung Yeol, the sexy vampire; Wang So, the passionate Goryeo prince who has broken your heart; Kim Hyun Joon, the intense iconic profiler, and the other unforgettable characters who have also made themselves at home in your heart and refuse to leave - all played by super talented Lee Joon Gi, your real actor - your addiction for life.
