THE GREAT DREAM TEAM
|
It is a known fact to the global Kdrama viewers and the public that the inimitable, charming and charismatic Lee, a legend in the showbusiness industry, towers over other lead actors in the making of great celebrity and non-celebrity friendships. Lee has made many enduring friendships in his astounding career, particularly during the filming of his movies and television series. The behind-the-scenes videos and photos of many of his past projects show that Lee has had a lot of fun and apparently enjoys being with others while on location filming. The globally popular and endearing actor is known to have a hilarious sense of humour and fun. His upcoming television series, Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon has not only reunited Lee Joon Gi with the people whom he knew from his younger days but has also given him opportunities to make new friends among the cast and crew. Can we call it yuen fen? It hardly needs saying that he must have ‘one hell of a whopper of a good time’. And that helps in the making of the great Dream Team. THE GREAT DREAM TEAM https://twitter.com/jg_k_drama_417/status/1647916993247313920/photo/1 It must also be mentioned that even Lee’s relationship with his global fans, who have been with him through thick and thin since the beginning of his career, has been uniquely warm and enduring. There are not many celebrities who are able to keep loyal and passionate fans from their younger or youthful days and continue to accumulate enthusiastic new ones as they get older. In
the longevity stakes, Lee Joon Gi has left all competition far behind. It
remains true that in the showbusiness industry which is mostly about hype and
illusion, true talent, passion and sincerity always win and will always
endure. Lee’s fine reputation is unequalled. So, who are the celebrities or production crew from his past that he has reunited with in Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon? We can imagine their chemistry and the sparks which they create that will light up the screen when they come together. LEE JOON GI AND PARK SANG YEON MAY 18 (2007) Park Sang Yeon wrote the script
for the historical movie, May 18, in which Lee Joon Gi portrayed a rebellious
student who was shot in the riots. The movie is about the Gwangju massacre which took place on
18 May 1980. The 2007 movie was nominated for 18 awards. It was reported that recently there has been a revival in the interest in the movie. In 2011, Park received Best
Screenplay and also, the Critics Choice Award for his movie, The
Frontline. LEE JOON GI (GONG-GIL) AND JUNG SUK YONG (CHIL-DUK) THE KING AND THE CLOWN (2005) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Joon-gi Lee Joon Gi and Jung Suk Yong (52) were co-stars in The King and The Clown. Lee Joon Gi played the leading role of the effeminate clown, Gong-gil while Jung played Chil Duk, one of the clowns. LEE JOON GI (JIN DO HYUK) AND JUNG SUK YONG (CHA MAN SOO) HERO (2009) Lee Joon Gi and Jung Suk Young were also co-stars in the 2009 MBC television series, Hero. Lee Joon Gi plays the leading character, Jin Do Hyuk while Jung Suk Yong plays Cha Man Soo. It seems that Lee Joon Gi and Jung Suk Young have yuen fen as they have collaborated again on their third project, Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon. In the television series, Jung Suk Yong plays Yeolson, the father of Tanya while Lee portrays the twins, Eun Seom and Saya.
THE MAIN CAST Lee Joon Gi also has a shared history with the main cast of the television series and he also seems to have great relationships with the rest of the cast and the crew. The global Kdrama viewers expect
great chemistry between the multihyphenate actor and the other members of the great Dream Team. LEE JOON GI AND SHIN SAE KYEONG THE KING OF SAGUEK AND THE QUEEN OF SAGUEK CHARITY EVENT 2018 Many Kdrama viewers will gravitate towards the series as they
are eager to scrutinize and compare the original lead actors and the
fantastic new pairing, Lee Joon Gi, The King of Saguek and Shin Sae Kyeong, The Queen of Saguek. Lee Joon Gi and Shin Sae Kyeong (32) worked together in the
Green Santa event in Seoul on 28 November 2018. They wrapped Christmas gifts
for underpriviledged children at the charity event, the Green Umbrella
Childrens’ Foundation Santa Expedition Campaign with Mickey Mouse. The magical pair, will not only greatly impress the viewers with their acting performance
but also their different interpretation of their roles. Some Kdrama viewers have named the impressive actor, Shin Sae
Kyeong, ‘The Queen of Saguek’. Imagine Shin Sae Kyeong, ‘The Queen of Saguek’ acting
alongside Lee Joon Gi, ‘The King of Saguek’! It doesn't take much imagination to see the inevitable
explosive chemistry, fireworks and pure magic that will be sparked by the sensual pair. Shin Sae Kyeong has received quite a number of awards:

Roots in 2011, Excellence Award in 2013 for When A Man Falls in Love, Excellence Award for Six Flying Dragons

did a great job, Oppa. I'm grateful to you.' Lee
responded, ‘Sae Kyeong, what are you saying? I’m the one who should be thanking
you.’
LEE JOON GI AND JANG DONG GUN Lee Joon Gi worked together with Jang Dong Gun (51) in the 2006 Giordano campaign. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHEJaFRq3l8 Jang won many awards, some of which are - Best New Actor for The Last Match and
Raperchage, Best Actor for Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War, Best Actor for 7
Years of Night and The Daesang for Arthdal Chronicles: Season 1. LEE JOON GI AND KIM OK VIN Lee and Kim were presenters in an awards show in 2006. She
seemed pretty nervous and Lee Joon Gi apparently tried to calm her. Any pretty young
thing would feel overwhelmed in such a nerve-wracking situation. Both look fiery-hot in their red hair looks. Kim Ok Vin (36) won Best New Actress for Over The Rainbow
(2006), Best Actress for Thirst (42nd Stiges Film Festival - 2009) and Best Actress for The Villainess
(2018). NEW FRIENDSHIPS KIM KWANG SIK THE PRODUCTION DIRECTOR The production crew is led by Director Kim Kwang Sik who
is very much lauded for his work. So far, the director has remained silent
about Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon. Director Kim is just the man to make the
ancient fantasy-action television series and bring it to new heights as he’s
got the right credentials. He directed the great and popular film, The Great
Battle (2018). The Great Battle is a
historical film about the siege of the Ansi Fortress and the epic 88-day battle
fought between Yang Manchun and his Goguryeo troops against 500,000 Tang
dynasty soldiers. Kim received the Best New Director Award for My Dear
Desperado in 2010. My Dear Desperado must have impressed viewers
because it was
remade in Hindi - Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story in 2013. It was also remade in Tamil - Kadhalum
Kadandhu Pogum. Like Director Kim, Lee Joon Gi's television series have also been remade / adapted by other countries - Flower of Evil by The Philippines and by India (Duranga), and Lawless Lawyer by Thailand. Lee Joon Gi's performance has been critically acclaimed and globally lauded and had won awards for it in both television masterpieces, Lawless Lawyer (2018) and Flower of Evil (2020). FLOWER OF EVIL THE PHILIPPINES DURANGA INDIA LAWLESS LAWYER SOUTH KOREA LAWLESS LAWYER THAILAND Director Kim also directed the intriguing 2014 Tabloid Truth. Tabloid Truth speaks of the
destructive nature of certain information. The movie begins with the chilling
suicide of a promising actress triggered by the spread of false, malicious
rumours. Her brave manager, risking his life by prising open the truth behind
them, uncovers a vast conspiracy. The chilling truth is a network of power,
money and sex, where faceless people from every field of society - financial
firms, government organizations, the media etc, manipulate the truth. They
are the authors of jjirasi (leaflet). To
shape public opinion and
further particular agendas, information which is selectively chosen, is
published in Jjirasi, the secretive online
newsletters. Misinformation, disinformation, lies and rumour mongering by the faceless
rumour makers behind the scenes are responsible for fact and fiction being
blurred. KIM YOUNG HYUN AND PARK SANG YEON SCRIPTWRITERS Kim Young Hyun and Park Sang
Yeon are talented writers who coauthored many successful television series: Arthdal
Chronicles: Season 1 (2019), Tree With Deep Roots (2011) and Queen
Seonduk (2009). Shin Sae Kyeong starred in both The Great Queen Seondeok and Tree With Deep Roots. Kim Young
Hyun won Writer of The Year for the internationally-acclaimed
drama, Jewel in
the Palace (MBC
/ 2003). She also won Writer of The Year for The Great Queen Seonduk in 2009,
Outstanding Korean Screenwriter and also TV Writer Award for The Great
Queen Seonduk in 2010. In 2012, she also won Best
Screenplay for Tree With Deep Roots. Kim
Young Hyun collaborated with Park Sang Yeon for Arthdal Chronicles Season 1 (tvN /
2019). They have teamed up again for the 2023 sequel, Arthdal Chronicles: The
Sword of Aramoon. Lee Joon Gi seems to share a close friendship with many members
of the cast and crew whom he met in Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon. They
have praises and good words for each other. CHOI CHAN MIN DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY The Director of Photography, Choi Chan Min, has won a number of
awards. In 2014, he received two (2) awards for Best Cinematography for Kundo:
Age of The Rampant and in 2018, he won another award for Best
Cinematography for The Spy Gone North. Choi, who loves
experimenting with new photographic techniques, made his cinematographic
debut with Camels (2001) in his mid-20s. He has worked on a
variety of genres.
It was reported
that Choi became famous when he used lenses with new filters and shutter
opening angles and high speed cameras in 71 Into The Fire, a
blockbuster war film, in 2010. It is interesting
to note that his car chase scenes in the 2007 Big Bang, the
biggest of street filming, were shot in Busan for a week by blocking off the
streets right in the middle of the city. With Choi Chan Min handling photography, the cinematography is
expected to be magnificent. The first shooting began on 22 August 2022. The
scenery would be varied as filming was carried out for 9 months during the
different seasons of the year in various places: Osan, Sokcho, Gangwon, Jeju,
Naju, Jangheung, Jeollanam, Hadong and Gyeongsangnam. Filming ended on 30
