Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun - Bloodbath

ARTHDAL CHRONICLES

THE SWORD

OF

ARAMUN

BLOODBATH

Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun, predicted to be the new Lee Joon Gi’s tvN masterpiece, wiil be South Korea’s first epic ancient television series. It will be an instant classic. The war-themed sequel will capture the sheer viceral and physical power of Lee’s performance. In the midst of the bloodbaths, a legend will be born. Eun Seom, the hero of the tale, portrayed by Lee Joon Gi, will be admired and never be forgotten. The drama also stars Shin Sae Kyeong, Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Bin.

In the sequel, Tae Al Ha, played by Kim Ok Vin, becomes the queen. In her recent interview with My Daily, Kim revealed that the ‘keyword’ of Arthdal Chronicles: Season 2 is ‘WAR’.

The imagination runs wild. The ancient fantasy drama will probably introduce some new vocabulary to Lee Joon Gi’s television work – ‘impassioned barbaric might’, ‘less than human’, ‘dehumanization’, ‘senseless cruelty’, ‘appalling mass murders’, ‘sheer brutality’, ‘savagery’, ‘never-ending bloodbath’ that would make some modern wars look tame. It is likely that there will be the infliction of atrocities, like taking body parts as trophies, which shows war in Arth is hell.

Fans expect the director would produce a heroic fantasy tale that is epic not only in scale but in imagery and the cinematographer would be there to assist him. Since WAR is the theme, the battle sequences, the pace of which will leave us breathless, are expected to be splendidly staged.

Though Eun Seom and Saya are chosen by Aramun Haesulla to fight evil, will they turn against each other? A physical fight between the two will be difficult to arrange and stage since Lee Joon Gi plays dual roles. If Eun Seom is the hero, is Saya, his twin, the Machiavellian schemer? Will the story of the twins be heart-wrenching and tug at our heartstrings?

Lee Joon Gi seemed to have lost some weight. He has been exercising and building his muscles even before filming started so there will be impressive action and stunt scenes, amazing sword fights, splendid horsemanship and awesome war scenes. Lee, in motion, will be like visual poetry. With some technical or digital wizardry, Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun will be magical.

Studio Dragon, the producer, has not handed out new stills related to Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun, so the fans can only imagine what it would be like in the series.

The television series is written by Kim Young Hyun and Park Sang Yeon, directed by Kim Gwang Sik who is assisted by Choi Chan Min, the Director of Photography / Cinematographer and You Seok Moon, the Lighting Director.
