ANATOMY OF LOVE

Having been stunned by Bong Sang Pil’s revelation of his secrets, particularly Wu’s attempt to kill him and her mother, Noh Hyun Joo, it was not surprising that Ha Jae Yi had rushed off to visit Wu Hyeong Man the next day.

Ha Jae Yi, on a personal mission to find out more about her mother, forced Wu Hyeong Man to relive the night 18 years ago when he kidnapped Bong Sang Pil. Bong was just 10 years old then when his mother was killed in his presence.

She demanded to know what had happened to the woman whom he had abducted. In his nightmares, he had never expected the ill-fated woman’s daughter would come to confront him. He physically recoiled in alarm but he didn’t reveal that her mother was still alive. Ha Jae Yi let him know that she would never forgive him.

Bong Sang Pil had felt relieved yet sad that his secrets had been revealed. He regretted that Ha Jae Yi had been shattered by the revelations, particularly Wu Hyeong Man’s role in the disappearance of her mother.

His love for Ha Jae Yi had grown by leaps and bounds but he couldn’t protect her with his love. Her mother’s disappearance had brought her to the brink of emotional disaster.

Bong Sang Pil stood with his hands resting on the balcony railings in front of the bifold glass doors of his apartment.

He wore a meditative and melancholic look. His sorrow welled up in him.

Ha Jae Yi felt depressed after her confrontation with Wu Hyeong Man. Upon returning home, she did not enter the house. She stared at her family photo on the shop window which depicted a happy and loving family of three. She was wedged in between her parents in the photograph.

The rain was pouring down as if it was sharing her grief. Her umbrella couldn’t protect her from her sorrow. Who could she share her sadness with?

There was a vacuum in her heart. Life seemed empty without her mother. The realisation that her mother might not be alive after all deepened her sadness.

Bong Sang Pil looked absently at the scene in front of him. He could feel the terrible aches of his past. Deep in thought, he was probably recalling the dark years of his life.

When he heard Ha Jae Yi’s footsteps, he turned slightly but he did not move from where he stood. His hands were still on the balcony railings and his body was slightly arched. His thoughts were elsewhere.

She put down her handbag. He admonished her for not reporting to him first if she had wanted to work late. So, why was she there at such a late hour?

Suddenly, overcome by emotion, she walked over to him and hugged him from the back. For the briefest second, he was surprised by her sudden show of emotion.

‘Can you stay like this for just a while?’ she asked. Bong Sang Pil must have been startled by their closeness and intimacy.

After some silence, he straightened up, with his hands hanging loosely by his side. They stayed immobile for some time.

Ha Jae Yi’s feelings for Bong Sang Pil had been building up ever since he saved her, a damsel in distress, from Seok Gwang Dong and his thugs in the nightclub. Her perception of him being an arrogant and contemptible lawyer must have shifted somewhat slightly then. What more, he had displayed such fantastic martial arts skills!

When he saved her a second time, in the subway tunnel, her heart must have been shaken too. Which man would fight for her with such ferocity even to the point of having his hand cut by a knife. The savage threat that he would pummel the hitman if he were to hurt a strand of her hair scared her. It was an unwittingly declaration of his love for her.

It was impossible for her heart not to be moved. It had further shaken her beliefs about him. Bong Sang Pil had gradually but surely inched his way closer and closer to her heart. But, was the subway tunnel incident the turning point in their relationship?

It was inevitable that, after the subway tunnel incident, her attitude towards him would change. She had lost her prejudice against him. Instead, she had actively supported him when he was interrogated by Prosecutor Kang Yeon Hee and Investigator Min.

Was she secretly thrilled that the handsome, intelligent and courageous lawyer was in love with her? His love for her was an open secret. He had loved her for a long time.

Bong Sang Pil had always been in the driver’s seat when it came to their relationship.

But, the past few hours had been an unsettling bewilderment for her. Revelations of the deaths of their mothers had been depressingly shocking. The truth about Judge Cha Moon Sook, her beloved ‘replacement mother’ was stunning news. Her estrangement from her father, her only relative, was also heartbreaking.

Everything in her world seemed to have fallen apart. She was suddenly so alone. Where would she find solace? In the arms of the man who truly loved and understood her.

She was the one making the move; she had gone to him. There she was in his apartment, willing him to understand her.

He turned her around to face her. They stared lovingly into each other’s eyes.

Lawyers in love. She touched his cheek with her fingers. It was an intimate gesture. There was a detectable tightness in his expression. Twitches. His face was flushed.

It was such a romantic moment. He suddenly felt loved. He had lost his mother’s love since young. His uncle’s love sustained him during his growing up years. But, she was the only woman in his life and he was obsessed with her. Now, she had returned his love.

He hugged her tightly to his chest. Their pumping hearts must have been beating so very hard. Bong Sang Pil must be loving every second of it.

‘From now on, it’ll get worse, Ha Jae Yi,’ he mumbled, his voice full of tenderness, as if to warn her. Just in case she was hazy about what she was getting herself into. A big question mark hung over their future together.

But, she assured him that she knew about the consequences of their relationship. He must have taken comfort in the fact that she understood him.

The audience would remember what she had promised him just before the car chase, ‘I’ll follow you wherever you go!’

Then, they looked at each other again. His lingering eyes on her face must have burned holes in her face.

The Sensous Kiss. He touched her face and then, their tremulous lips met in a romantic kiss.

It was another turning point in their relationship but this time, it was a huge one.

For, suddenly, hey, presto, Ha Jae Yi was literally in bed with Bong Sang Pil.

Bong Sang Pil’s muscular right arm was hugging protectively over her.

They make a beautiful picture together. A sizzling love scene. Beautiful chemistry.

She touched his arm gently and lifted it. Then she was gone, leaving him alone in bed.

A real tease. Episode 6 rewards the viewers with the unforgettable image of the sexy, gorgeous and handsome Bong Sang Pil asleep in bed.

Rays of the morning light filter through the window, casting a warm glow over Bong Sang Pil’s creamy skin. The light casts flattering shadows over the curves of his muscular arm and his strong masculine features.

A tantalizing and scorching hot image. A certain degree of mystery is retained as only part of his chest is revealed. It should get the ladies' pulses racing madly.

Drooling and fainting spells are expected. Get ready the pails and the smelling salts!
