WHAT IF Lee Joon Gi  were to star in a drama attired in uniform?

If you have watched enough of Lee Joon Gi’s awesome dramas, you are bound to find yourself having a definite opinion about his choices. Lee Joon Gi may be the King of Saguek dramas and he may have won many prestigious awards for his brilliant portrayals, but Lee cannot be a Saguek hero forever. He has to take on some other roles again, and fans know that he is contemplating changing directions. What if Lee Joon Gi were to take on the role of a man in uniform? What would his fans say? Almost without exception, regardless of the way they might express it, the answer would be, ‘Fabulous!’ He would be awesome in such a drama, and many would go crazy. Men in uniform are so desirable because such men symbolise courage, strength, discipline, adventure, risk and responsibility. Women gravitate towards them like butterflies towards nectar. Liken the hearts of Lee’s fans to a rollercoaster in fast motion. Lee’s fans and admirers, at the moment, are dreaming up new drama roles for him while impatiently waiting for him to complete shooting his much-awaited drama, ‘Moon Lovers’ / ‘Scarlet Heart: Ryeo’. And, many can envision him looking really hot in uniform especially as ‘An Air Force Officer’ / ‘A Commercial Airline Pilot’. That would be just the ‘Perfect Role’ for Lee Joon Gi. He’s got the acting chops, the looks and the charm. The only hitch is, ‘Is there a good script waiting for him?’ However, he could also be ‘A General of an Army / An Armed Forces Officer / A Traffic Policeman on a motorbike / A Detective or Undercover Cop In The Entertainment Industry / The Captain of a Cruise Ship’.   Perhaps, even if not in uniform, Lee would look just as fabulous in an impeccably tailored suit. ‘A Secret Agent, the Korean James Bond’ with a license to kill, perhaps? He’ll show you his swagger. He is not only handsome, he can also throttle some thuggish characters. Lee Joon Gi is so versatile that he can portray any role if he sets his mind on it. Lee Joon Gi is 5 foot 10, athletic, trim, handsome, sexy and charming. He is an excellent martial artist and has been involved in many action dramas and movies. His interests include Tae Kwon Do (3rd degree), Hapkido (1st degree) and Taekkyeon (1st degree). And he loves cycling and exercising. He fits the societal stereotype of a ‘real’ man and so, can take on masculine roles any time. But because he is a chameleon actor, he can also take on androgynous roles with confidence and conviction. That’s right. Don’t do a double take. But fans would insist that he take on the role of ‘A Pilot in a Commercial Airline’ first before taking on other roles. But, what is a drama without some action scenes from Lee Joon Gi? The script writers should take advantage of Lee’s martial arts skills and spice up their script with some exciting action stuff. What about adding some dancing scenes – ‘Tango or Lambada’, even some traditional dancing as a bonus? That would be sensational! And singing too. He should be allowed to sing one of the theme songs. No harm adding in romance and a sprinkling of humour. Ah, that would be the ultimate Lee Joon Gi drama!

INTOXICATED His look says it all. Absolutely yummy! Lee Joon Gi looks tantalising, scrumptious and gorgeous in the series of photographs from the photoshoot for the forthcoming May 2016 issue of the ‘Geek’ magazine. It is Lee’s latest style. He seems keen to explore new styles and contradictory combinations and thus, makes a fashion statement. Lee is not called ‘The Most Beautiful (Haandsome) Man’ in Korea for nothing. He is the Korean god come alive.  Lee looks prefect - a real feast for the eyes. His looks are enough to stop the traffic. Whatever he wears seems to make him scrumptious. Would it be an exaggeration if one were to say that females might lose all sense of reason by gazing at him or his photographs? They would be 'Intoxicated'. But then, it is undeniable, Lee has got some help from the style-makers – the fashion movers and shakers from the Geek magazine to create his latest look. The powers-that-be in the Geek magazine have orchestrated the ‘perfect seduction’ for Lee Joon Gi. When studying the fabulous photographs which are numbered from 1 - 4, one cannot help but think that Lee Joon Gi looks like a supermodel. It is Lee’s best birthday present to all his fans! It must be pointed out that it is difficult to decide between photo No 1 and photo No 2 for the cover choice for Geek. Lee Joon Gi has a mesmerising effect on the viewers. When poring over his photographs, has one’s heart stopped beating? Perhaps, it is galloping thunderously in one’s chest? Well, if one can feel that one’s heart is being squeezed as if iron fingers have tightened around it, then, that’s the cover photo!

TRENDSETTER In the first photograph (1), Lee Joon Gi is attired in a long sleeved pattern shirt with black-stripes evenly filled with small brown parallelograms. Lee displays the Cape Look, with the top button on the band collar being buttoned up but the rest of the shirt is recklessly and temptingly undone all the way down to a mischievously sexy level. Gasp. Don’t we have sneaking suspicions that the creative people of Geek are trying to stop women from breathing. Once one’s mind snaps back to reality, one would notice that Lee’s striped shirt is overlaid with a unique colour-matched lapelless slim fit suit jacket. It seems to be a ‘made to measure’ suit jacket. The designer plays with brown and grey tones. One would probably not notice the breast welt pocket and the two waist welt pockets as they blend in easily with the check pattern. Checks are currently on-trend. Lee presents a clean cut, contemporary and smart, yet sexy look. What about his wet look? Silky strands of black hair fall freely over his eyes, giving him an air of mystery. His personal arsenal, his smouldering gorgeous Phoenix eyes seem to be challenging the viewer. Lee seems to be gazing sensually at the viewers, his Phoenix eyes are seductively half closed and his flirty Cupid bow lips are slightly parted. His head is poised in such a way as to expose his sexy jawline and his masculine throat. If one is not careful, that smouldering, intense gaze might penetrate one’s soul. A striped patterned shirt matched with a bold check collarless suit jacket make an interesting combination and may have looked overpowering on another male. Other men might be too intimidated to wear such a style but not Lee Joon Gi. Lee is adventurous enough to make a fashion statement. The effect is not low key, and it is, indeed, difficult to wrench one’s attention away. Lee is setting a fashion trend. A Trend-setter. He is the style chameleon. He keeps the women (and some men) enthralled with his ever changing style. After gazing at the photograph, are you blushing from your feet to the roots of your hair? Have your feet turned into gelatine? Don’t beg for mercy. By Lee’s expression, none is forthcoming. Just sober up.

STYLE ICON In the second (2) photo, Lee Joon Gi looks amazing. He comes across as an utterly masculine and yet, endearingly     vulnerable man. He is in a unique head turning pose. He has that look that is reminiscent of his younger days. Lee is rocking the age-defying look. Age is nothing but a number. He had been in the industry for more than ten years. In this photograph, it seems time has stood still. One remembers that in 2005 he was about 24 years old when his movie, ‘The King and the Clown’ became a blockbuster. Quickly do your math, it adds up, but does Lee look 34 years old? Give the question some serious thought. Why does he look so young? You don’t have to figure it out all by yourself. Everyone will inform you that with his flawless, silky smooth skin, Lee Joon Gi is bound to look stunningly young. In the photograph, Lee is in an Alpha male squat pose with his shirt untucked. His hands are crossed on his knees with his chin propped on one wrist. The angle looks right and flatters him. Only two colours are used but the effect is stunning. He wears a loose fitting collarless pale grey or pale lavender pirate-inspired or traditional European costume-inspired shirt. The billowy sleeves have neat pleats off a dropped shoulder and ends with widely-spaced pleats at the French cuffs. No cuff links? It’s not a cardinal sin to wear untucked shirts and French cuffs with no cufflinks. You’re talking about LEE JOON GI. Whatever he wears will give him a distinctive look. Pleated billowy shirt sleeves. Wow. It would not be surprising if Lee’s loose shirt is not off-the-rack clothing but specially designed for him.  The shirt is matched with a pair of black trousers. Overall, the attire has a trendy yet vintage look. Lee Joon Gi’s wet hair falls appealingly and sexily over one eye as his other eye gaze intensely at the viewer. Does his pair of dreamy Phoenix eyes set your heart pounding? Is one tempted to reach out and brush his hair off his forehead or to smooth his hair back? Snap back to reality, ladies.  At the moment, Lee Joon Gi is shooting his new drama, ‘Moon Lovers’ or ‘Scarlet Heart: Ryeo’ which is planned to be broadcast in September or earlier. Lee has a fan meet in Seoul, Korea on 23 April 2016.
