Lee Joon Gi’s trip to Macau, China for a photoshoot between 7 and 11 January was one of the highlights of his career in the first half of 2020. The coterie of photoshoot professionals who accompanied Lee successfully harvested a collection of amazing pictorials that are featured in the July issue of The Star Magazine. One important focus of The Star Magazine interview was Lee has been singled out as the role model of younger actors.





 




Multihyphenate Lee Joon Gi, considered to be most talented, charismatic and well-loved of all superstars, was given a very warm welcome by his many passionate fans in Macau, some of whom came from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan and elsewhere. During the trip, his ardent fans who followed him everywhere he went sent him many gifts, flowers and letters which he took back to Seoul.








The megastar was also given a royal welcome home by his local fans and the media.

It was auspicious that when he arrived at the Macau International Airport, he was photographed against the billboard, ‘Take Your Brand To New Heights in ASIA’.

Lee is the perfect Brand Ambassador because he is a legend in the Asian showbusiness world. Lee Joon Gi, who lionised the pictorial space in the magazine, was reminded that younger actors have singled him out as their role model.

Besides having his name associated with a mobile game, Lee, The King of Historical Dramas has won the prestigious Seoul International Drama Best Actor Awards twice for Arang and the Magistrate (2013) and The Joseon Gunman (2015) after his discharge from the military. In 2018, he won another prestigious award Best Male Asian Star Award in Singapore for his eponymous role in Lawless Lawyer. It is difficult to name the countless awards that he has won.

Of all the actors who have been discharged from the military, one could say Lee Joon Gi’s stint in the military was the most distinguished and most awesome because of what Lee had achieved and what he represents. It is because of Lee that the world has come to know about Goryeon history. Lee, who was launched into international fame and popularity with The King and The Clown in 2005, has since moved further up the showbusiness stratosphere. 









When Lee Joon Gi starred alongside Milla Jovowich in Resident Evil: The Last Chapter, he gained an even more iconic status in the entertainment world. Flower of Evil, Lee’s upcoming psychological thriller-melodrama, is discussed at length. Lee portrays Baek Hee Sung, a man with a dark past who pulls wool over the eyes of his homicide detective wife for 14 years. It is impossible to guess how the drama will be presented to the viewers but it is predicted that there would be no dry eyes at the end of the drama.
