Lee Joon Gi and Kim Won Jung Renew Bond of Friendship

LEE JOON GI
AND
KIM WON JUNG
RENEW
 BOND
OF
FRIENDSHIP

With the benefit of 17 years of hindsight, Lee Joon Gi and Kim Won Jung could look back at their shared history with affection. Both Lee and Kim Won Jung or Rey Kim share great action skills. They have collaborated in several projects. 4 projects, to be precise. Their friendship started even before Lee was launched into international fame and popularity with the historic blockbuster, The King and The Clown (2005). They share a great bond of friendship.

Their past projects were Non-Stop 4 (2003), Time Between Dog and Wolf (2007) and Criminal Minds: Korea (2017). This year, they are teaming up for Flower of Evil. Their friendship has come a long way. It is obvious that their common talents have brought them together. Time Between Dog and Wolf and Criminal Minds: Korea involve a lot of action. Flower of Evil is expected to be full of action, thrills and excitement.

CRIMINAL MINDS
2017

While nothing much is known about their collaboration in Non-Stop 4 and Time Between Dogs and Wolf, their teamwork in Criminal Minds, based on the popular American television drama series of the same name, is most intriguing. Lee Joon Gi portrays Kim Hyun Jun, an all-round SWAT officer (EOD bomb expert)-Violent Crimes Detective-NCI profiler. Kim Won Jung plays Choi Jae Man, a police suspect. They share two scenes in Episode 1 of Criminal Minds.

The first one is the awesome scene where Kim Hyun Jun chases Choi Jae Man as they leap and jump over rooftops. None, who have seen the complete video clip of the action scene, can forget Lee’s fantastic Parkour leaps including his awesome flying leap from the rooftop and his landing right smack on top of Kim Won Jung. The viewers can feel a tremendous thrill as they watch the harrowing chase.

WHat's Missing?

The other scene is set in the police station where Choi Jae Man is locked up but Kim Hyun Jun argues for his release because there is no evidence against him.
Shockingly, the amazing rooftop chase scene was cut from the drama. Mind-boggling. It is hard to imagine why such an astounding scene should be deleted. Never before has anything remotely like this happened to Lee Joon Gi. With such an incredible scene that is worthy of James Bond, his talents would have been juxtaposed with those of other actors. Though Lee Joon Gi’s global fame is beyond question, this scene would perhaps have made him the most feted superstar in 2017. Many viewers knew nothing about the deleted scene but it must have troubled many fans who were in the know.
