Winter has arrived but Lee Joon Gi, the newly-minted Prince of Asia is not hibernating. Instead, he has launched his ‘Delight’ Asia Tour 2018-19 in Seoul with a LIVE BAND - and with a vengeance. Reports say that it had been snowing in Seoul but, thankfully, there was no snow on the day of Asia’s superstar, Lee Joon Gi’s Seoul Delight concert at Ehwa Womans University on 15 December 2018.

Though the outside temperatures were almost freezing, Lee’s Asian fans had warmed up the atmosphere with their rice wreaths or fan rice which were contributed, in his name, to charitable causes. It is clear evidence of Lee Joon Gi’s powerful influence over his fandom. This generous and kind fan gesture gives a good kickstart to Lee Joon Gi’s Delight Asia Tour 2018-19.

In his 2016-17 Thank You Asia Tour, Lee entertained his audience with his mesmerising rendition of his singles ‘Thank You’, ‘Now’ and ‘We Wish a Merry Christmas’. 'Thank You' is Lee’s way of showing gratitude to his passionate fans. ‘Now’, like many of his songs, is quite unforgettable. His ‘We Wish a Merry Christmas’ has been very well-received and is a staple whenever Christmas comes around.

For his six-city Delight Asia Tour, Lee Joon Gi, the King of Swoon has prepared a new set of of lovely upbeat songs to make his presence felt in music in Asia. The vibrant singles, ‘For Us’, ‘Accepted’ and ‘Can’t Be Slow’ for the tour would definitely enthral his fans.

The provocative but fantastic song, ‘For Us’ of the artiste has already stirred up quite a controversy. There is raging online fighting between fandoms concerning who Lee is singing the song for. Is it for his beloved girl or his fans? Lee’s fans are convinced that the lovely song is about his relationship with them but the members of other fandoms are adamant that it is for their female idol. Those very imaginative fans are forever shipping attractive female stars with the eligible handsome and sexy superstar.

The delightful ‘Can’t Be Slow’, like ‘Now’, seems to be an enigmatic message for his fans. As for the meaning of ‘Accepted’, we need to ask The Prince AKA King, himself. Well, Wang So was Prince and Emperor.

The choice of red costumes for his fantabulous concert was stunning though not that surprising. Red quickens the heartbeat. The flashing psychedelic lights spread even more warmth to the atmosphere. Lee Joon Gi's very energetic dancing and singing, supported by his lively dancers, gave a cheerful party feel to the delightful event. The exciting live band music made it insanely upbeat.

Famous for his remarkable vocal and dancing abilities, Lee has been doing popstar concerts in Asia ever since he shot to fame in his twenties. Lee had dragged himself from obscurity to fame based on the strength of his varied talents.

In his Seoul concert, his lovely singing voice, the sheer pace and dazzling energy of his dancing, and the heavy doses of charm that he regularly doles out to his audience leave them breathless with both excitement and joy. One notices that Lee’s connection with the audience was great. For certain sentimental or poignant songs, he sang with such a strong emotion that it seemed as if he was singing directly to the listener. As for Lee’s dancing prowess, the audience's response showed that they relished his every delicious move. Many are convinced that the irresitible kinetic effect of his dancing is the result of his diverse martial arts training.

The enthusiastic response of the audience indicated that the delightful evening was a time well-spent with the superstar; in fact, it had been sheer bliss.

With his new tour, it is certain that Lee Joon Gi will be riding the crest of yet another massive Hallyu wave.

Lee Joon Gi seems to have a punishing schedule this month. He has four concerts. The ones in Korea and Osaka, Japan are over. Time flies. Lee is already in Yokohama and will be delighting his fans in two more concerts before he flies to Singapore for ‘The Starhub Night of Stars’, an international awards show. Next year, he will continue with his 'Delight' Asia Tour  in Taiwan, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Many showbusiness experts and the media find it quite unusual for an actor of such a formidable reputation to hold popstar concerts. Such a situation is uncommon. But then, the multi-talented Lee Joon Gi stands apart from the others. The Asian megastar is not just an actor but also a martial artist, martial arts choreographer and supermodel. Being a popstar (singer and dancer) has helped him climb to sparkling heights. And whatever he does, he excels in them all. There are no half measures with Lee Joon Gi. Undeniably, Lee Joon Gi is unique and in a class by himself.

KOREA DELIGHT

ARRIVAL AT THE VENUE
EHWA WOMANS UNIVERSITY

Yes, I know, I know but, be patient. Let Wikipedia explain. Ewha Womans University, a private women's university in Seoul, was founded in 1886. It is at present the world's largest female educational institute and is one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea.

While the lack of an apostrophe in ‘Womans University’ is unconventional, the use of ‘Woman's’ rather than ‘Women's’ was normal in the past.

Τhe use of ‘Womans’ carries special meaning. The early founders of the college thought that every woman is to be respected. To promote this idea, they chose the word ‘woman’ to avoid lumping students together under the word ‘women’.

See. Now, you’ve learnt something new about South Korea just because of your favourite celebrity, Lee Joon Gi.
