THE 2018 STARHUB BEST MALE ASIAN STAR 
The megastar Lee Joon Gi won the
2018 StarHub Best Male Asian Star Award, the highest accolade of the StarHub
Night of Stars awards show which was held at the Marina Bay Sands Theatre in Singapore on 22 December
2018. The international award is for his outstanding and realistic performance in the drama, Lawless Lawyer. Chinese actress Qin Lan, who starred in the popular historical drama, Story of The Yanxi Palace, garnered the Best Female Asian Star Award.
34 celebrities from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore and a
crowd of about 2,000 people attended the show.
  
Lee Joon Gi was a towering
presence in the glitzy crowd; he was the star of the show. Lee's ticket to the top is not just his amazing acting
abilities. He is also an awe-inspiring Martial Artist and Martial Arts Choreographer. Being
an impressive Popstar (Singer and Dancer) and 'Supermodel' strengthens his resume.
   
The gorgeous and sexy Lee Joon
Gi, who sported a stylish modern mullet haircut, wore a stunning black velvet
tuxedo with a double black bow tie. His entrance to the red carpet event grabbed the lion’s share of audience and media
attention. It was instant and overwhelming. He was greeted by a cacophony of
screams from the enthusiastic audience. Lee has a flair for showmanship and
knows how to whip the crowd up into a frenzy. Lee Joon Gi has not been called ‘The King of Fan Service' for nothing; he was blowing kisses and making
heart signs to his admirers now and then. Every word he spoke and every move he made elicited excitement
and screams from the mostly female audience. The hysterical screams were
absolutely deafening. They resembled tremendous roars that would have scared
some stars stiff. But, the inimitable Lee Joon Gi seemed to bask in the
attention and love of his fans and admirers.
Even the beautiful Kate Pang, one of the hosts
of the show, was not immune to Lee Joon Gi's charms; she flirted with him and teased him relentlessly in the presence of her husband and son.
    
Onstage, Lee Joon Gi shook hands with the youthful 63-year old Michelle
Yim, a TVB Best Actress, best known for her well-loved villainous roles but
he was handed the 2018 StarHub Best Male Asian
Star trophy by Joe Ma, who, himself, had received the StarHub Best TVB Artiste Award earlier in the same event. Joe Ma had also recently been presented with the TVB Best Actor 2018 Award.
  
During his acceptance speech, Lee
Joon Gi, speaking in three languages – Korean, English and Chinese, ratcheted
up the excitement. He thanked his ardent fans warmly right from the start and received
the loudest and most impassioned cheers. One can understand why the
actor-cum-entertainer had such a huge impact on the audience. While
photographers were busily taking shots of the assembled celebrities on stage,
the vibrant Lee was swaying his hips to the music, amid hysterical screams
from the audience.
The Lee Joon Gi phenomenon is not a fad. The multitalented, sexy, gorgeous, charming, humorous and hardworking Lee is like nothing the world of Asian showbusiness has ever seen. So passionate, so unselfconscious, so fearless and so self-confident. A consummate actor and entertainer, Lee Joon Gi knows how to dazzle, how to connect and how to influence. 
Lee Joon Gi’s fans and admirers
are convinced that 2019 will also be his year - that there will be many great and wonderful surprises waiting for him. Lee has delivered some of Lawless Lawyer’s most
emotional and teary moments most effectively. Setting the bar sky high and
standards for excellence, other actors will find it difficult to reach his
level. Even the lead actors of other dramas pale in comparison with Lee’s performance in 2018. And, Lawless Lawyer, a legal-action tale that has captured the imagination and hearts of international viewers, is undenianly the best drama of 2018.
