The Star Magazine Delivers a Scrumptious Visual Feast of Sun-Kissed Lee Joon Gi

THE STAR MAGAZINE
DELIVERS
A SCRUMPTIOUS VISUAL FEAST
OF
SUN-KISSED LEE JOON GI

Gold: The Golden Boy of the Korean Entertainment Industry

COLOURFUL PICTORIAL SPREAD  OF STYLISH LEE JOON GI
IN SUNNY HAWAII

An image of health, sexiness and confidence

Lee Joon Gi looks a world away from his Moon Lovers: Goryeo’s Scarlet Heart character as he steps off the plane onto the beaches of Hawaii for his colourful The Star magazine beach holiday photo shoot for August.

Lee looks like a sun-kissed supermodel dressed a la mode, decked out in clothing of various eye-catching colours to seduce the onlooker! Well, he has to - since Hawaii is famous for its varied coloured beaches - green, red, yellow, white, pink, gray, black due to past volcanic activity. Yes, amazing. Don’t remind me that some of the beaches are also in Lee Joon Gi’s favourite colours.

Lee is just the right entertainment star with the sunshine image to make waves on the beach in sunny Hawaii for Korea’s The Star magazine. With his refreshingly sunny, effervescent disposition and natural, youthful appearance, Lee Joon Gi is sunshine personified. He has a winning, happy and cheerful upbeat personality - being lively, funny, engaging, complete with his famous infectious smile and laughter. He is like a breath of fresh air in the Korean entertainment industry.

Having lost a fair amount of weight for his upcoming drama, Moon Lovers: Goryeo’s Scarlet Heart, Lee looks fit and emanates a healthy glow. He is truly the Golden Boy of the Korean Entertainment.

When one looks at Lee Joon Gi’s stylish and colourful images from the Hawaii photo shoot, one is reminded of his past modelling stints. Lee has modelled for many big names like Andre Kim, Pepsi, Giordiano, Samsung, etc. and he has maintained those model looks. In fact, one must repeat, he looks like a supermodel for the shoot for The Star magazine.

Nowadays, many creative talents of the fashion magazine industry are gifted, inventive and imaginative. The staff of  Korea's The Star magazine are not any different. They have taken note of Lee Joon Gi’s personality and taken advantage of his talents, skills and looks to showcase his natural, healthy, strong and athletic look that reflects his real life and the man that he is. Lee jogs, cycles and does workouts. His strong and athletic looks and toned muscles make him look even sexier.

With his latest photos splashed across The Star magazine, Lee Joon Gi reveals a face and a physique that gets better with time. The pictures of Lee invite more than leisurely scrutiny and because of all that, the media is all abuzz about him.

The Korean dramaland and entertainment world should take the cue from Lee Joon Gi and the Star Magazine that entertainment stars in their thirties can be stylish and can also dazzle with sexiness even without shedding their clothes.

GOLD GOLD GOLD

The Sunshine Personality: Cheerful, Trendy, Masculine and Sexy

Lee Joon Gi has turned into a social media sensation and has earned a very strong media following on Instagram, Facebook and elsewhere with his many projects including the latest photo shoot with The Star magazine. When The Star rolls out its August issue, one should be able to follow Lee Joon Gi's trail to Hawaii.

Take a page from 'supermodel' Lee Joon Gi’s classy fashion book. He shows what ‘trendy, masculine and sexy’ style is.

In the stunning photograph above, a leaner and more athletic Lee Joon Gi commands one’s attention and perhaps makes a permanent mark in the modelling industry. He sports a short angular fringe haircut with tapered sides and back. The top layer of hair, with a touch of gold, is long and sweeps over the head into a heavy fringe. This is a unique and trendy hairstyle; it is currently all the rage in the men’s fashion world.

Lee's gold military–inspired trench coat enhances his masculine look. It has a classic-timeless appeal with epaulettes on the shoulders and straps on the sleeves.

The gold splendour of the coat is linked to the power of the sun and masculine energy. Gold, along with purple, has long been associated with royalty as it is expensive looking.

Lee Joon Gi, resplendent in the coat and basking in the sunshine, exudes sex appeal. The look is stylish, masculine and regal enough to fit an emperor!

WHITE

In the series of breathtaking, sexy images which are white-themed, Lee Joon Gi is a knockout, wearing a white running singlet which displays his sun-kissed skin and well-toned muscles. He looks healthy and physically fit.

In the first image, he has matched the white singlet with an ocean-blue trench coat. His hands slip only halfway into the shirtsleeves to display the well-toned muscles of his biceps. His head is arched and his mop of hair is parted at the centre. Lee's enticing, steely gaze meets the readers’ eyes.

Lee: having positive energy and sharing it with others

In the second and third images, Lee, with a happy, gorgeous smile on his tanned face and wearing his white singlet, poses with his pink surfboard. His windblown hair is slightly damp. He is an image of health, sexiness and confidence.

Lee’s joyful and youthful image wins hearts

The wet, sexy look, a real winner, is shown in the fourth and fifth images. Lee wears a white v-neck button-down, slim-fit long-sleeve shirt. The neckline has a v-neck strip that runs down the middle of his shirt. The shirt is teamed with a pair of cobalt blue trousers.

Having been splashed with water, the sheer, diaphanous material of his shirt seems more transparent than ever. But, the two pockets which have been placed very strategically on the chest reveal nothing. The viewer’s imagination must have run wild.

The youthful Lee Joon Gi seems to have a wild and playful time, smiling cheerfully while being photographed against the sensational background of sparkling natural broken light reflected on the glittering sea.

CREAM

Lee Joon Gi wears a grey shirt combined with a cream long sleeve jacket and a pair of similar coloured short pants. The ensemble is paired with grey-black speckled or marled socks and white shoes.

Lee, like a striking supermodel, poses against the spectacular backdrop of exposed brown-black rocky outcropping which is splashed by foamy tidal waves washing over the beach.

THE KOREAN ‘SUPERMODEL’
in
A SPLASH OF COLOURS

Lee Joon Gi looks every inch a supermodel in the colourful pictorial spread of The Star magazine. In his trip to Hawaii, he is shown to be fit and healthy. He never runs out of energy. His eyes seem to be in an energized state even while he is relaxed or lying down.

STRONG IS SEXY

Poetry In Motion: Lee’s athletic, flexible and supple body in silhouette

It cannot be denied that strong is sexy and those who are athletic with toned muscles exude sexual energy. However, strong males need not cast their clothes off to show how sexy they are.

Lee Joon Gi looks sexy even with his clothes still clinging on to him. And, one is aware of his awesome body even when he is clad in casual garb.

The photo shoot in Hawaii favours Lee Joon Gi as it showcases him at his sexiest - his glowing health, strength and athleticism.

The 5 foot 10 martial arts exponent rose to prominence after his blockbuster movie, The King and the Clown, took the nation by the storm. The director, Lee Joon-It (no relation) chose Lee Joon Gi on the strength of his awesome 'handstands' at the audition but the then unknown actor did not disappoint and went on to amaze the Asian audience.

Lee has never looked back. Since then, Lee has been compelled to demonstrate his fitness, martial arts skills and his athleticism in movies, dramas and even, in concerts. The video clip above shows Lee's athleticism.

Seen below are some photos and video clips of Lee's personal life in Hawaii that he has shared with his fans on the social media.

Lee will continue to make dramas and movies that matter to him. From the feedback of his fans who know that he is a chameleon actor, they want him to try roles in genres other than saguek, and it seems that he would soon star in a modern romantic drama.

In the recent interview with The Star magazine, he divulged interesting titbits about working with IU who plays the time traveller in their upcoming saguek drama, Moon Lovers: Goryeo’s Scarlet Heart. He pays his leading lady generous compliments and lauds her smart perception as an artiste for having understood the heavy demands of the drama and being able to see the big picture. The very much improved standard of the drama, he claims, is due in no small measure to her. But, he has also praised his other co-stars in other interviews and has also mentioned them positively on social media.

As for his own acting, he laments in his self-deprecating manner about his skills. He often wonders whether there is anything lacking in him as an actor. What he says is mind-boggling. He has possibly indulged in excessive self-evaluation. His skyrocketing fandom, strong acting track record and recent positive media attention should have allayed his feelings of insecurity. Lee certainly has a wicked sense of humour. And, Lee’s fans who are incurable optimists would certainly be baffled by his comment. But, he need not worry as they would give him a standing ovation for his amazing acting talent and skills.

All viewers of his forthcoming drama in autumn, including his enthusiastic and excited fans, would see Lee’s amazing transformation from his usual sunny self into that of a gruesome ruler who wreaks havoc in the Goryeo kingdom. They know for certain that he would not be purring like a domestic cat but instead, he would be breathing fire in his role of Emperor Gwangjong, who was famous for his repression of the opposition.

But viewers would have to wait with bated breath until 29th August for the airing of the first episode of Moon Lovers: Goryeo’s Scarlet Heart on SBS. It will run for 20 episodes in the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slots. Before that, sad to say, only the privileged Chinese would be able to watch his Chinese film, Never Said Goodbye, which would premiere in China on 9 August, Chinese Valentine's Day.
