The Romantic Pose
THE COVER
(left: The Royal Pose / right: The Romantic Pose)
Lee Joon Gi and
IU have landed on the cover of Cosmopolitan Korea magazine for the month of
August in 2016.
Lee Joon Gi has shared two shots of the Cosmopolitan photo shoot on his Instagram, one of which is his and IU’s stunning romantic pose. The second one is a shot of Lee Joon Gi, IU and six other actors who have also been cast in the upcoming saquek drama, *‘Moon Lovers: Goryeo’s Scarlet Heart’, They are presented in an interesting royal pose.
The more eye-catching
shot documents Lee Joon Gi and
IU’s perfect and flawless pose. Both
are the leading stars of the historical-romance drama which features Lee in
the role of the Fourth Prince-turned-Fourth Emperor, Gwangjong and IU as Hae Soo, the
third millennium time-traveller.
For Lee
Joon Gi and IU, the creative team have lovingly
designed an exciting romantic image to the very minute detail that flatters
the two superstars. Every detail makes a statement and the crafted pose
has created a unique romantic aura that only the most forward-looking,
first-rate and inventive minds of the industry can execute.
Thanks to the creative Cosmopolitan team, the conceptualized images are memorable and distinctive. Lee Joon Gi, IU and the other six royal ‘princes’ of the Korean drama, an adaptation of China’s ‘Bu Bu Jing Xin’ or ‘Scarlet Heart’, look impressive.

LEE JOON GI
THE EMPEROR
AND HIS FAVOURITE COLOURS
Lee Joon Gi shares his favourite
colours: black, white and red
Colours matter. In Lee
Joon Gi and IU’s picture, three colours, black,
red and white reign supreme. And, these are all Lee
Joon Gi’s favourite colours (photos above).
BLACK. Black speaks of
elegance, sophistication, power, control, seduction and mystery. The background of the magazine
cover has different shades of grey. Grey is made by mixing white
and black.
WHITE. It is the
traditional Korean colour of purity, innocence, faith – the colour of
perfection. White, as well as black, have been selected as the text colours.
RED. A colour of
passion, desire, love, energy and strength. Pink, a tint of red, is white
added to red. There are reds everywhere in the texture of IU’s seemingly
rose-pink dress, and more importantly, the magazine name is emblazoned in a tint of red.
The colour concept of
black, red and white is stupendous. The combination of pink, grey, white and
black is dreamy and is a perfect colour scheme that screams romance, style
and sophistication.
Style and fashion
begins with Lee Joon Gi. Colour
Lee Joon Gi masculine - in black
and grey. Lee wears a plain black open shirt with pushed-up shirt sleeves.
His shirt is matched with his slim-fit, flat-front, dark grey trousers.
Although his pushed-up
sleeves give him a casual sexy look, they do not stop him from looking polished,
sophisticated and classy.
His hair, which is
combed backwards, gives him a powerful masculine appeal. He shoots us his
signature seductive intense-eye look. And, he spices up his sexy look with a
masculine timepiece.
Lee Joon Gi exudes
the power of presence with his animalistic sexiness. The image fits him like
a glove. Although his facial features
are attractive and near perfect, one is drawn instinctively to his gorgeous
and stunning Phoenix or Arctic Wolf eyes. Some call them the national
treasure of Korea! Overall, the masculine ensemble, the strong and sexy look
projected and the colours used certainly do him justice.
Lee Joon Gi has
inarguably driven the ladies wild with his glowing and flaming-hot look
judging from responses in many social network sites, on his instagram and elsewhere. It would not be
surprising if they were to suddenly warble an ode to Lee
Joon Gi’s masculinity
and sexiness!

THE EMPEROR’S
WOMAN
While Lee Joon Gi looks effortlessly masculine, IU,
in contrast, looks utterly feminine and formal.
IU, also known as Lee Ji-eun, shows a lot of skin in her backless sequin dress, filled with an exquisitely alluring range of eclectic pink, red and
gold colours, and held together by spaghetti straps. The gorgeous,
eye-catching and sexy ruffled-back and ruffled-front dress has a curve-hugging bodice. A
slanted layer of ruffles seems to cling on both hips. The dreamy, sizzling
look is complete with dangle earrings.
The overall shimmering rose-pink colour of IU’s
attire exudes a warm and romantic image.

AUGUST: THE TIME FOR ROMANCE
IN THE MOOD
FOR ROMANCE
THE POTENT
CHEMISTRY BETWEEN
THE FOURTH PRINCE
AND
THE THIRD MILLENNIUM TIME TRAVELLER
When viewers look at
Lee Joon Gi and IU, they
probably fall helplessly in love with the idea of love. The camera has
captured their spirit of romance at its sweetest. In the photo shoot, the
pair presents a powerful earth-shattering image of a romantic couple which is
truly a favourite dream come true for all their fans.
Lee Joon Gi and
IU are a rare breed of talented and fashionable celebrities: he, the
much-celebrated handsome, ever-green, multi-talented chameleon Korean actor-entertainer,
and she, the popular, stylish and talented young Korean singer-actress.
The Romantic Pose: Lee Joon Gi and IU’s body
language and couple-look is crafted to perfection and tastefully presented.
The look gives perfect meaning to romance - the romantic masculine man who is
madly in love with the lovely feminine woman.
In that shot, Lee
Joon Gi (the Fourth Prince) towers over the
petite IU and stakes a territorial claim on what he believes is his (the third
millennium girl, Hae Soo) by placing his hand on her back to impress on other
men that she is already taken. It is such a perfect, romantic gesture. The
confident and authoritative hand gesture spells, ‘Hands off, she’s mine!’
IU, on her part, has
placed her right hand lightly on his broad shoulder to show their level of
intimacy and to confirm her claim on him. The feelings are mutual. She seems
to melt into him.
They complement each
other and look so prefect together. IU oozes femininity while Lee Joon Gi
oozes masculinity. Their subtle chemistry is manifested in the image which
pays homage to romance. They are picture perfect and make a lovely couple. The
posed shot, indeed, captures the romantic imagery succinctly.
Shades of Grey: The
two stars really look fiery-hot together against a background of different
shades of grey. But there is nothing scandalous about the imagery. Naughty,
yes but in this case, one should not read too much into the colours used.
However, some may
not have noticed the tiny, almost invisible chain tied to IU’s dress to which Lee
Joon Gi has wrapped round his finger. The
imagery evokes the idea, ‘I’ve wrapped you around my little finger!’ Ah, the
naughty Fourth Prince!
But wait, it is a
chain of fate which can be likened to the Chinese ‘Red String of Fate and
Destiny’. That is food for thought.
The Chinese idea
of ‘Yuánfèn’ is translated as ‘fateful coincidence’ (Fate
and Destiny). ‘There is an invisible red thread that connects those who are
to meet regardless of the time, place or circumstance.’
The Chinese (Japanese
and probably some Koreans) believe that people are tied by that ‘Red String
of Fate and Destiny’. In terms of romance, it stresses more specifically on
two people sharing a strong bond which draws them together. Fate or chance
brings those two people together.
If the image
projected is to drum up excitement for their upcoming drama, viewers believe
Lee Joon Gi and IU are game for it.
Much to the delight
of fans and viewers, the image has afforded them a glimpse of the
unforgettable romantic moment of the perfectly charming drama couple.
Speaking of which, the fabulously stunning couple image is executed to
perfection, so much so, that it puts the female viewers in the mood for
romance.
A timely reminder: It
is the time of the year to fall in love. Well, isn’t August a month for
romance? According to the Chinese calendar, ‘Double Seven’ (seventh day of
the seventh month) or Qi Xi (Seventh Night) is Chinese Valentine’s Day.
This year, it falls
on 9th August which is the premiere date for Lee Joon Gi’s Chinese romance movie, ‘Never Said Goodbye’. Heartbreaking romantic love movies remind everyone to be grateful for their current sweet experiences or past sweet memories.
And, the Korean saguek drama also starts in August. |
THE PRINCES
AND HAE SOO
The second shot is that
of Lee Joon Gi, IU and six other actors who are the cast in the upcoming
drama, *‘Moon Lovers: Goryeo’s Scarlet
Heart’.
All the seven handsome
princes look really prim and proper. There is not even a sliver of midriff
flesh peeping out from under the actors’ shirts or jackets. No naughtiness –
no baring of flesh. They, with the beautiful IU, look intriguingly mysterious
and serious. There is no hint of any smile on their faces - the typical
expression of royalty. Although all look very attractive, only Lee Joon Gi
smolders with passion.
Lee Joon Gi and IU, in
matching white attire, are placed at the centre, and they are flanked on the
right by Byun Baekhyun, the Tenth Prince and Nam Joo-hyuk, the Thirteenth Prince (back). On the left are Hong Jong-hyun, the Third Prince and Yoon Sun-woo, the Ninth Prince (back). In the foreground are Ji Soo, the Fourteenth Prince (left) and
Kang Ha-neul, the Eighth Prince.
The posing arrangement
is artistically well-balanced and interesting.
