Global superstar Lee Joon Gi’s first
promotional event for the hospitality conglomerate, Shinsegae Chosun Hotel
Inc., was the special Yuletide fan meeting in Seoul, ‘Happy Christmas’ on 14 December 2019. Lee is not just the
ambassador for the conglomerate but also for South Korea.

The participants of the event, which was held in the Shinsegae Chosun Hotel, comprised
international fans. Thailand. Singapore. Taiwan. Hong Kong. Mainland China. But, most were from
Japan as the ‘Special Event’ was advertised only in Lee’s Japanese fan
website, Splendor. The emcee-cum-translator is Japanese. The fan
gathering was more intimate than his usual fan meetings as it provided an
opportunity for fans to be closer to him.
 
The event has been described as a mini
concert with much singing and dancing, humorous talks, hilarious games, many
warm and heart-touching moments, the obligatory photography session, gifts and some pleasant
surprises. Lee looked gorgeous in his Liberclassy
micro check suit.
 
Since it was a Christmas event, the handsome superstar sang his
favourite Christmas song, ‘We Wish You
A Merry Christmas’ and some of his well-loved songs like ‘For A While’
and ‘Ma Lady’. Being a savvy and seasoned entertainer, he held sway over
the audience with his charming talks, jokes, melodious songs and energetic dancing. When Lee filled the atmosphere with Christmas love and joy, his
fans also entered into the spirit of things. They were swaying in tandem with his dancing and singing. The megastar’s talent is as outsized
as his personality. The audience must have been honoured to be in such
magnificent company. It seemed that the fans had so
much
fun and laughter that the auditorium ‘came alive and was shaking with glee’.

The ardent fans, who were excited about their
live connection with their idol, waited to tell him how much they love him.
Many, who were full of adulation for the superstar, shed their decorum and
screamed their passionate declarations of love and support.
    
When Lee declared
his desire of spreading his wings further to different parts of Asia, there was a roar of approval. Speaking in English, the superstar promised to visit places where he has never stepped into before like Malaysia and the Chinese city of Macao. His fans in Mainland China would be thrilled to learn that he would be
landing in their country again after a lapse of three years.

The event ended with a session of signing autographs and handshaking with about 600 hundred fans present who took advantage of the rare chance
of admiring him not from a distance but at close quarters, and, interacting
with him on a one-on-one basis. Though it must have been exhausting for him,
Lee is appreciative of their love and support. While signing endless autographs, Lee
smilingly displayed his charms, patience, joy and good-naturedness.
