Fresh off the glittering World Premiere of Kidnap Game on 2 October 2026, the effortlessly charismatic Lee Joon Gi once again stole the spotlight! The next day, he graced Fuji TV’s high-profile lineup showcase, ‘Fuji Drama Colors 2026 Autumn’, joining a star-studded cast, including Kentaro Sakaguchi. The colourful grand event celebrated six upcoming Fuji TV flagship dramas under the unified banner of ‘one piece of extraordinary entertainment’, bringing together top-tier creative talents and stellar performers. Lee
Joon Gi looked gorgeous. His sleek, stylish, and contemporary look showcases an
edgy, modern minimalist style with a chic influence, combining traditional
tailored elegance with a glam-rock edge.
The
outerwear centers on a black pinstriped jacket that creates a sharp,
high-fashion silhouette. It features a standing Mandarin collar, styled
unbuttoned and open to achieve a relaxed rather than rigid formal presence.
Underneath, the outfit relies on dynamic multi-layered dimension. A fitted,
solid dark scoop-neck undershirt anchors the look at the collarbone, creating
deep visual contrast against the lighter mid-layer. Over the base shirt sits a
light-colored dress shirt worn loosely with the collar flared open. Left
unbuttoned, it offers an effortless, 'nonchalant cool' vibe that breaks up the
monochromatic palette. Dark tailored trousers and a clean buckled belt complete
the perfect ensemble. Unsurprisingly,
Lee Joon Gi completely captivated the audience, speaking in remarkably fluent
Japanese as he introduced Kidnap Game, a brilliant multinational
collaboration born from the passion of international producers, crew, and cast. https://www.instagram.com/jg_k_drama/reel/DeCdQQCS_x8/?hl=en
‘For Kidnap Game, staff, producers, and
actors from across borders came together and poured their hearts, energy, and
relentless passion into every single frame. Everyone worked so hard to create
this work - it truly feels like a gift to us all. I genuinely hope everyone tunes
in and enjoys it!’ - Lee Joon Gi

Filming Kidnap Game was a true test of endurance. While tropical Singapore brought relentless heat, the winter shoots across Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan presented brutal freezing conditions, often plunging far below 0°C. Lee Joon Gi fondly recalled one unforgettable, high-stakes scene on the frozen Han River bridge, South Korea, at a bone-chilling-13°C. Marking the thrilling first encounter between his character, Dr. Han Ki Joo, and Kentaro Sakaguchi’s Toshiro Niide, the scene required intense action and a demanding, almost continuous one-take dialogue sequence. Despite the extreme weather, Lee Joon Gi’s burning professional pride and playful spirit shone through: ‘Because it was our very first scene together, I really wanted to look cool! I refused to show any sign of physical weakness. I kept telling myself, ‘There’s no way I’m losing to this cold! I absolutely cannot lose!’ As they say, true bonds are forged in the fire, or in this case, the ice! Facing such rugged conditions together created an undeniable, heartwarming camaraderie among the cast and crew.
PASSION BEYOND THE SCREEN
RUNNING AS
ART AND HEALING
During
another segment exploring Fuji TV's upcoming thriller, producer Kenichiro Hobara
dropped an endearing piece of behind-the-scenes trivia: Lee Joon Gi’s tireless
running habit, which he maintained even amidst their busy Tokyo schedule! With
his signature sunny energy and impressive athleticism, Joon Gi warmly shared
why running is so close to his heart. For him, jogging through new cities - whether
navigating the tropical heat of Singapore or the charming streets of Taiwan and
Japan - is a gentle, humble way to immerse himself in local cultures and
quietly observe daily life. More than physical exercise, these runs serve as a
creative sanctuary: a place for mental healing, meditative clarity, and deep
reflection on his script to elevate his performance even further.

The
sweetness didn't stop there! Co-star Sae Okazaki (who plays sharp TV reporter
Akina Isobe) revealed that the Japanese team was utterly charmed and impressed by Lee Joon
Gi’s manager. She shared how he invigorated the freezing set every morning with
his infectious battle cry: “Let’s
overcome this with grit!” (Gonzo!).
With
a modest chuckle, Joon Gi explained that his manager shares his own fierce,
competitive spirit. When the winter temperatures in Seoul had everyone
shivering, his manager stepped up to boost morale, shouting encouragement to
keep spirits high!
Kentaro
Sakaguchi cheekily chimed in, revealing that Lee Joon Gi’s manager surprised
everyone each morning by proudly greeting the set with newly learned Japanese
phrases, instantly brightening the atmosphere. When
Kentaro playfully asked who taught him such expressive Japanese words like Gonzo, Lee Joon Gi delightfully pointed out that his manager doesn't even speak fluent
Japanese, making his passionate efforts all the more endearing to the entire
production family!
