Lee Joon Gi’s top 2022 Legal-Action-Time Travel-Fantasy 16-episode television series, Again My Life, which is based on a webtoon, is now being streamed on Netflix. The legendary megastar, Actor-Martial Artist Lee Joon Gi’s plays Kim Hee Woo, an idealistic prosecutor who is reckless in his pursuit of justice. The exciting television series, a masterpiece, showcases Lee’s incredible acting prowess and martial arts skills, and also his ability to effortlessly project and play a younger version of himself with conviction. Lee, who has given a perfectly credible performance (then forty years old in 2022) as a sophisticated prosecutor and also a rebellious and immature teenager, which many are convinced, is an impossible feat to be achieved by any other actor. Again My Life is a television series for the thinking man and woman.

A hot-headed prosecutor, Kim Hee Woo, fouls up his criminal investigation against Jo Tae Seop, the most powerful but corrupt politician in South Korea played by Lee Kyeong Young. Unable to restrain his rage against the unjust political and judicial system dominated by the nefarious politician, the naive prosecutor is brutally murdered with fabricated charges to discredit him. But, he is given a new lease on life and a second chance to pursue justice by The Grim Reaper. It is a surreal moment when he is given a tour of his failures in his previous life in the form of a stunning video show in the sky - a theatre in the sky.

Kim Hee Woo walks straight back into the life of his 18-year-old self. He, with his memory intact, knows he cannot blow his opportunity this time. He wants to ensure his second life count for something. The memory of his murder remains vivid in his recollection. The failures in his previous life which gnaw at him shape and influence his personality and the strategies he adopts to tackle Jo Tae Seop in his new life.

Exercising patience when he returns as a teenager, he strengthens himself mentally and physically as well as nurtures and empowers important people around him. Incredible as it may sound, Kim Hee Woo cultivates his numerous Multiple Intelligences and takes advantage of them in his fight against corruption. He proves to be even more wily and cunning than his corrupt colleagues.

Devoid of delusions of achieving justice easily, Kim Hee Woo plans for his showdown with his nemesis painstakingly. The schoolboy with an old soul gets into fighting shape, makes important allies including schoolmates, university friends, experienced seniors in the legal profession and wise business mentors in his journey to achieve his goals.

To all outward appearances, he seems like an amiable prosecutor who could easily be corrupted and could be bought out. Calculating and planning his every move meticulously and keeping his wits about him, he labours long and hard to lay a solid foundation before challenging the all-powerful politician.

By the time Kim Hee Woo graduates from law school, he is a fierce fighting machine. As the top legal eagle, he sets out step-by-step to orchestrate the downfall of the forces of evil. Cool, calm and collected, with a mission in his new life, he refuses to be distracted by the romantic pursuit of Kim Hee Ah, a beautiful young heiress from a powerful Chaebol family, played by Kim Ji Eun. However, in the end, he decides to team up with the like-minded Kim Hee Ah to destroy the powerful and ruthless politician and his cronies.

SBS’ Again My Life is directed by the brilliant Director Han Chul Soo, scripted by J and Kim Yul, and adapted from Lee Hae-nal’s web novel of the same name to the screen by Lee Byung-hun. Lee Soo Min is the Action and Martial Arts Director.

In the production presentation or press conference for Again My Life, Director Han Chul Soo emphasized that Lee Joon Gi is

‘the best and only choice’ for the role of Kim Hee Woo in the television series'.

He was obsessed with the idea that Lee Joon Gi was the right actor for the lead role and had refused to give up even when Lee rejected his offer the first-time round.

The director was not only impressed with Lee Joon Gi's brilliant on set performance but also with his impeccable manners and congenial personality. 'Because of him we have so much fun on the set. ‘Lee's spectacular screen presence, good working attitude, positive personal attributes and enthusiastic on-set influence’ convinced the director that he has made the right choice in casting him for the role. There was loud applause from the press.

Lee Joon Gi promised that if the television series reached 10% viewership, he would dance for his fans. It reached 12%. Lee received the Top Excellence Award in the 2022 SBS Drama Awards. Kim Jae Kyung, who played the role of a feisty journalist, was presented with the Best Supporting Actress Award.
