The beautiful image of Lee, together with the statement, MORE THAN OUTSTANDING, stares you in the eye. Which is more striking? Waves’ beautiful Lee Joon Gi cover portrait or Wave’s powerful statement? Both are just as impressive. The ‘MORE THAN OUTSTANDING’ tag is justified. Lee is Asia’s most outstanding actor-cum-entertainer since the day The King and The Clown (2005) launched him into entertainment stratosphere. As an extraordinarily remarkable and impressive global superstar, Lee Joon Gi has been riding the crest of his many successes, including the ‘Hallyu’ Wave. Lee Joon Gi, is not only the recognizable rare jewel in Asia but the globe’s outstanding actor and celebrity. Lee has been bestowed with many flattering titles, ‘The Actor With A Thousand Faces’, ‘King of Sagueks’ (Historical shows), ‘The Legendary Hero’ (Living), ‘The Prince of Asia’, The Most Handsome Actor With Monolids’, 'Top Action Star' and so on and so forth. When Lee Joon Gi’s name is mentioned, they think:
‘A QUINUMVIRATE OF TALENTS’
A Stellar Actor An Awesome Mixed Martial Artist and Action Star A Sensational Pop Star – A Wonderful Singer A Spectacular Dancer And last but not least, A Stunning ‘Supermodel’ Lee Joon Gi’s spectacular history of achievements speak for him. His successes are exceptionally outstanding. He stays ahead of the competition with his passion, dedication, diligence, creativity and humility. Basically, he passionately loves what he does and he also loves people and his audience. Lee, unlike the many stars who feel entitled to the rewards and awards they don’t deserve, has battled prejudice, injustice and obstacles to become the global megastar he is today. That’s the essence of Lee Joon Gi’s story. If there’s anything that younger actors might learn from Lee Joon Gi, it is all these.
The superstar has shown himself to be ‘More Than Outstanding’ in his recent drama, Flower of Evil, a unique, one of its kind SUSPENSE-MELODRAMA. Needless to say, Lee has been receiving an avalanche of accolades for his enthralling performance in the spectacular global masterpiece. Lee portrays Do Hyun Soo, the cold, inscrutable and ‘psychopathic’ husband of Cha Ji Won, an obsessively devoted detective wife played by Moon Chae Won. Do Hyun Soo, the son of a psychopath, has coincidentally assumed the identity of Baek Hee Sung, a comatose psychopath.
The drama, which is awashed with suspense and relentless action, cliff-hanging episodic endings, melodramatic moments, is embellished with enigmatic symbolisms. There is no stopping of the imagination.
The thrilling climax to what is largely a drama about love, parenting issues, psychopathy, mental health issues, injustice, prejudice, guilt, responsibility and accountability, is brilliantly pulled off by international award-winning director, Kim Cheol Kyu. Director Kim has created an electric tale that keeps your heart pounding and your eyes glued to the screen, episode after episode. In the climactic scene in the penultimate episode, the real Baek Hee Sung, played by Kim Ji Hoon, taunts Do Hyun Soo about Cha Ji Won who supposedly died at his hands. The pain and anguish inside Do Hyun Soo which rises like an uncontrollable tidal wave, leads to the emergence of Do Hyun Soo’s psychopathic impulses. All he wants is to dismember the psychopath. The thrilling fight scene by the precipitous cliff, which descends into a swift flowing river, is spectacular. The tour de force performance by Lee Joon Gi, with the amazing acting of his co-stars, has electrified the audience of Flower of Evil. Instincts tell you that the global television landscape is changing. It might dawn on you that Lee Joon Gi, Asia’s Treasure, who has been shaping the world entertainment industry, with his spectacular performances, will continue to keep the world TV and movie audience in a frenzy. He is the megastar who’s worth keeping your eye on.
Lee Joon Gi’s breath-taking cover portrait makes a powerful impact and statement. One is drawn to Lee Joon Gi’s dramatic pose. He is pictured with his hands held in a steeple above his head. Palms apart, the fingertips of one hand lightly touch the fingertips of the other hand like a steeple of a building. This pose is a universal non-verbal expression of self-confidence or power. The higher the steeple, the greater the self-confidence or power. A beautiful pose. Wave’s photographer has played with light and shadow to crank up the contrast. The dramatic lighting highlights Lee’s beauty. Part of his face is in the shadows while the other shows a radiant glow. The shadows draw attention to the main focal point – the beauty of his eyes. The photographer has used Rembrandt lighting to create the triangle on the left side of his face. The end result is quite startling; an awesome portrait of a powerful superstar.
Leo Tolstoy’s words glide silently by, ‘All the variety, all the charm, all the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow.’
In a related image, Lee looks gorgeous wearing the long-sleeved, round-neck black pullover sweater which is worn over a beige turtleneck and teamed with a pair of beige trousers and black shoes.
Another sexy image of Lee Joon Gi in Waves is so beautiful that you wish that it was the cover image instead. The confident, speculative look of Lee's beautiful eyes seem to cast a hypnotic spell on the reader. The world would be littered with a trail of pinning hearts. In the image, Lee dons a beautiful billowy, collarless navy blue shirt that allows his beauty to shine through. The Waves editorial team must be lauded for this simple yet alluring image. An enthusiastic fan posted an image of Lee Joon Gi which juxtaposes his youthful face in ‘The King and The Clown’ days with his face in the January issue of 2020 Waves magazine. 15 years apart.

If you did a double take, you’re excused. His face and features look the same as when he was young but he is even more handsome now. Incredible!
Lee looks formal and classy in an almost all-black ensemble. The Waves team have curated his dashing look with a luxurious five-piece suit: matching suit jacket, trousers, vest, tie with polka dots. All are black save for the white dress shirt. His shoes are also black.
The whole stylish outfit accentuates his height and long legs.
