Lee Joon Gi will return to the
small screen with a cameo role in IU’s drama, Hotel Del Luna on tvN’s
Saturday-Sunday 9 p.m. slot. The 18 July announcement by Lee’s agency, Namoo
Actors, heated up the internet again as the actors had collaborated in SBS’s
globally popular Moon Lovers: Scarlet
Heart Ryeo in 2016 and JTBC’s very successful Knowing Brothers segment in 2018. The handsome and charismatic actor is doing it all in
the name of friendship.

However, the news on the
internet seems to be confusing. Some writers report that Lee Joon Gi would
guest on only the third episode of the drama which is scheduled to air on 20
July while others raise hopes that he would be in a 3-episode cameo
appearance. None are certain about the number of episodes. Lee Joon Gi’s fans
just ‘can’t get enough of him’ so, would crumbs suffice? When will Lee Joon
Gi announce his very own drama or movie for 2019?
Hotel Del Luna has
been touted to be a horror-fantasy-romance drama about life beyond the
grave. IU (Lee Ji Eun) plays a netherworld character, the CEO of the ghost hotel,
Hotel Del Luna, whose clients seem mostly to be dead souls or humans with
near-death experiences. Lee Joon Gi is reported to be portraying a priest. ‘Del Luna’ means ‘From The Moon’ in Spanish.

doing his former Moon Lovers: Scarlet
Heart Ryeo costar special favours previously by co-guesting with her on the 2-episode JTBC’s Knowing
Brothers reality programme in 2018. Lee Joon Gi seldom appears on
reality TV.
IU’s 10th anniversary
concert
The multihyphenate superstar had
also attended IU’s 10th anniversary concert in Seoul last year. Her
concert tour started on 28 October 2018 in Busan, Lee Joon Gi’s hometown.
Lee Joon Gi ignited the Internet when he sent IU
a food truck while she was filming tvN’s My Mister in 2018.
 
IU reciprocated by sending two food
trucks to the set of his drama, tvN’s Lawless Lawyer. Playful messages
had also been exchanged between the former co-stars.
 
It is interesting that some of
IU’s fans have no qualms about shipping the couple, hoping that their
friendship would become warmer. And so, it has. But then, Lee’s fans have
been tickled pink as Lee Joon Gi has always been nice to all his former
castmates.
The good-natured duo continue to
tease and taunt their fans. The ‘will
they-won’t they’ dynamic has everyone guessing ever since their classic
chemistry in Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo made them the most romantic
couple in historical drama history.
