Smiling charmingly for the cameras. Posing like a supermodel. Showing off Vivienne Westwood’s clothes to advantage. None would dispute the fact that Lee Joon Gi looked gorgeous, striking and seductive. With such a winning mindset and fabulous looks, it isn’t difficult to see why Lee Joon Gi had won hearts, dazzled everyone and taken centre-stage when he graced the grand opening of the Vivienne Westwood Paterson Street Store and Café in Hong Kong on 7 November 2018. Being the experienced charmer that he is, he also knew exactly what to do to bring on the smiles and make the crowds go wild.

Lee showered his fans, who came in droves to see him, with his naughty winks, flying kisses and heart signs and he even spoke English and Cantonese, thanking them profusely for welcoming him to Hong Kong. Very charming, indeed.

It was reported that more than a dozen security guards had been hired just to maintain order at the prestigious event.

At the packed meeting later with the press, Lee Joon Gi fielded every question posed to him with charm, skill and eloquence. The charming, lively, charismatic multi-talented Asian superstar won the crowds with his warm and outgoing personality. Lee Joon Gi has a lot in the way of wide public appeal. No wonder his fans, the Hong Kong public and even the press were completely smitten by him.

With winter just around the corner, it is important for everyone to keep warm. Thirty-six-year old Lee Joon Gi kicked off the season’s fashion by wearing a striking oversized single-breasted black-and-white tartan jacket with matching loose-fitting pants. The pair of pants with a gathered waist is fastened with a drawstring. Lee had layered his jacket with a black turtleneck sweater. His minimalist white sneakers complete the very cool look.

Though checks are all the rage in Europe for autumn and winter 2018, the eye-catching but seemingly overpowering black-white plaid pattern is an uncommon sight in Asia. But, the gorgeous Asian superstar Lee Joon Gi never fails to impress. He stuns. He had made the bold ensemble look like a million dollars. Lee had sent the message that one has to bid farewell to skinny clothes and jeans this winter.

Lee Joon Gi, the multi-talented superstar (actor-martial artist-action choreographer-model-popstar), has a successful year. His performance in the 2018 legal action drama, Lawless Lawyer, has melted the hearts of drama critics, writers and audience who have been effusive in their praise for his acting skills and talents. His amazing acting calibre and martial arts skills in Lawless Lawyer have put him on the world map.

But Lee Joon Gi is not just an awesome actor-cum-martial artist. Also acclaimed as a ‘popstar’, Lee had held fan meets in the form of pop concerts in South Korea and Japan in the first half of the year. He would soon kick-start his 2018-2019 Delight Asian Tour with his Seoul fan meet in December. The actor would then leave for Osaka, Yokohama, Taipei, Bangkok and Hong Kong. More events would probably be planned later.

Other than that, the very diligent actor, who is the model for Lotte Duty Free since 2016, has been featured in many fashion magazines, including being the cover boy for the August issue of Elle Men Hong Kong. Lee had just returned from a very successful and memorable week-long photoshoot trip in Bangkok, where his warm and ardent Thai fans constantly swarmed around him.

Lee Joon Gi spoke of his dream of being a great action star like Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan seems to be his idol. How wonderful it would be for all fans from different generations and different cultures if the two great Asian action superstars were to appear together in a movie! Lee has not reached the same level of experience and fame as Chan and he could learn a thing or two from the older thespian. However, both are quite similar in many ways. They are multi-talented, cheerful, energetic and they have a hilarious sense of humour. For them, acting is a lifestyle. Lee had recently revealed in the Knowing Brothers show (Episode 151) that he had choreographed his martial arts moves in his dramas. It isn’t surprising since he is a practitioner of many kinds of martial arts. Lawless Lawyer has action sequences from end to end, some of which had been created by him. Lee practises BJJ and boxing quite regularly.

It had been observed that Lee Joon Gi was treated like royalty in Hong Kong. Andreas Kronthaler, the Creative Director of Vivienne Westwood's brand who was also present, was more than pleasant to him. Upon Lee’s arrival the day before, the South Korean actor had been escorted from the Hong Kong airport to his hotel by a squad of celebrity security guards including a beefy European bodyguard and when he left the day after, he had additional security. The presence of many robust bodyguards did not deter his overly eager and wildly passionate fans. The royal treatment Lee Joon Gi had received further cemented his status as Asian showbusiness and fashion royalty.

The beautiful and talented 43-year old Hong Kong actress-singer, Charmaine Sheh Sze-man, also attended the event. She is also a superstar in her own right. The multiple award winner and former TVB queen had recently wowed the audience with her portrayal of an empress in her very popular Chinese drama, ‘Story of the Yanxi Palace’.
