Lee Joon Gi: The Global Superstar
Lee Joon Gi may have been robbed off SBS’s Daesang Award but
hey, recently, his fans have received the good news that he has won an
international award, The Best Actor of the Year 2016 Award, presented by KKTV
Taiwan. Thank goodness, at least, foreigners like the Taiwanese appreciate
his acting prowess!
This is something fans could crow about in the Year of the Rooster! It
is the time for them to strut around, puff, preen, and parade.
The bigger picture is getting clearer and clearer. If Daesang
is translated as ‘The Actor of the Year’ in the South Korean drama industry,
then Lee Joon Gi is the South Korean Global / World / Universal Daesang for
2016 and for 2017. Perhaps, also for the years beyond.
Lee had been denied his acting award, his local Daesang award, by SBS. The powers that be of the industry must do Lee Joon Gi justice by
presenting him with the Global Daesang award. He is the best of all the South
Korean actors in 2016 despite the dubious local ratings. Foreign fans do not
want to be embroiled in a row about Best Actors being chosen based on the
questionable drama ratings. SBS had zigged when they should have zagged.
Drama ratings means ratings of dramas, not ratings of the best
actors. If local drama ratings are used, just name the shows ‘The Local Drama
Ratings Awards Shows’ instead!
Lee Joon Gi has invested sincerely in his acting career for
fifteen years, having started in 2001. Can one say that he is not only an
actor but that he has the innards of an actor as well? Young pretty boys have
already received their Daesang Awards elsewhere. Last year, everyone, in all
drama sites, on social media etc, had proclaimed that Lee Joon Gi, a fine /
sterling / amazing actor, had outperformed all the other actors but, why then, had he not been treated right? It is as if his superb acting in Moon
Lovers – Scarlet Heart: Ryeo counted for nothing. Imagine, not even an acting
award!
Make no mistake about it - Lee Joon Gi is unfazed by the lack
of recognition for his amazing acting skills; he is not one to wallow in
self-pity. Lee just moves on as he has a burgeoning movie and drama career
ahead of him. There are so many movies and dramas, South Korean or foreign, to be
made, and so many happy moments not to be missed especially building powerful
bonds with his appreciative fans and his incredible globally-famous friends
like Milla Jovovich and Paul Anderson. His fast increasing billions of fans,
local and overseas, are his awards and gifts. SBS’s snub in 2016 has been
more than off-set by his fans' ginormous love for him.

Lee Joon Gi, the amazing globally-acknowledged leading actor of
the historical fiction drama, Moon Lovers–Scarlet Heart: Ryeo, may not have
been presented with The Daesang by SBS
at their awards show on 31.12.16 but all his South Korean and foreign fans
know that Lee Joon Gi is The Real Daesang.
Lee Joon Gi received only three awards: the Top Ten Stars Award, the Best Couple Award, and the K-WAVE Star Award or Hallyu Star Award, supposedly the second best award since it was presented to him just before the Daesang was announced. Obviously, Lee Joon Gi is SBS's best actor of 2016 and is very much better than those who had received the Top Excellence Awards at the SBS Drama Awards Show but he was not even presented with any acting award!
But anyway, it is now becoming clearer that Lee Joon Gi is The
Global Daesang!
